Only if it followed the book to the exact detail, was long as hell, and was done ala Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within style (all CG), with the original voice actors. It must also give a very desperate sense to the war, be accurate on the " out in space = no sound thing, " and must at least remotely look Legendary mode difficulty (since that is about what the war would have been based on, read carefully, look for details, and you'll get that impression)

That would be cool, they could already have their armor too, since Nightmare Armor already built MC's

Live action would suck and they wouldn't be able to do everything that is described in the book then. Even with special effects. It is just better to take the CG route all together.

Under the most rare of circumstances do I wholeheartedly agree Hikaru; however, at this junction, I could not agree more.

I actually already thought about this idea.

Thought about it that I've already made storyboards for an upcomming animation/film project for next year...a friend of mine has already suggested some CG programs for me to use incase..

I'm already up in storyboards to the scene where Hasley first encounters John and will prolly post that chapters images once they're finished.

So excited. -^^-

Live action would be perfectly acceptable. The fact the Spartans are totally encapsulated in armour allows them to be done in total CG while fitting perfectly in with the live actors. CG is quite capable of handling non-humanoids. It just falls apart when it tries to do human faces.

Fall of Reach, unfortunately wouldn't make all that great a screenplay. It was a light read, taking only a half day to finish. Character development was very limited. The scenes were entirely too short and it covers too wide an expanse of time.

With sufficient re-writing it could be possible. This would allow for engendering the story with an emotional context that is required to make for a succesful blockbuster.

No! CG movies take you out of the movie! Its not real enough. Its like watching a cartoon. I think that a cast of tallented actors and a mix of computer effects would be awsome! Im thinking something like the way Lord of The Rings was done. You think we will see a Halo movie?

Bungie already said that they are not going to make one, but we can always hope....even though if one was made halo would be totally slaughtered by Hollywood, and if we give an actor the role of Master Chief, then we can see the face of him....and I don't want to see the face of some real person, that would just confuse my minda sto what John actually looks like. Plus having it a high quality CG wouldn't give the entire feel of a cartoon. It only comes off as a cartoon if you make it come off as a cartoon.

Wouldn't they use the Halo 2 engine for creating the movie?

The engine is damn fine... but not *THAT* good. Though, it's not any fault of Bungie's. Damn, Bungie's done fine work with the limitations provided by the hardware.

Perhaps Halo3 and Xbox2 :)
