I always wondered what happened to the nation of Japan during the Covanant invasion of Earth so I decided to try and put the pieces together through the eyes of a man named Yemon Sutaksu.

October 20th, 2552-Tokyo, Japan
Yemon Sutaksu was cleaning the counter in his antique shop. It was full of relics from ancient times ranging from Samurai armor, katana blades, and other dusty old things. He heard the ring of the bells at his door signaling someone had arrived. It was his old war buddy Udo Kamasi.
"Ah Udo my friend how have you been its been years since I have seen you!" Yeman exclaimed. "It certainly has Yeman and my how the years haven't changed you" Udo replied back "And might I say it seems you have a nice little shop here". They continued to trade hellos and compliments when they decided to sit down and remember their old war days. "Yes yes I remeber it like it was yesterday Udo" Yemen said in "You ,me, Kaz, and Yoko taking on the Covanant with youthful ambition". "Remember the time we infiltrated that Covanant outpost in the Bastion System and blew it to bits?" Ugo asked Yemen. "Oh do I" Yemen said "My what a fine example of teamwork we as Crimson Team showed the UNSC" he added with enthusiasm.
Yemen looked back and saw his polished Spartan armo hanging in a fancy glass case. The armor though was no ordinary Spartan armor, it was an experimental suit from the Hayabusa project. To Yemen it reflected pride in his heritage and made him seem more intimidating to the Covanant than he was in standard Mk.V arnor. Suddenly his radio switched from traditional Japanese music to an emergancy radio broadcast from the UNSC. "Attention all citizens the Covanant have made contact with Earth, the Covanant have madeBZZZZZZZ" is all he could hear before it went to static. "Yemen what did the radio say again?" Udo said unaware that the radios message was loud and clear, the Covanant had found Earth.
