I was just reading in a past EGM mag where they had an interview with bungie and they said something that i havent heard anything about since then. Bungie said that they were toying with the idea of being able to remotely detonate your grenades (plasma was what they mentioned not frag so i dont know). Example: you press down the left trigger and hold it down after the grenade has been thrown, then when u want it to blow up you just release the left trigger. they were speculating about incidents such as you throw it on some poor soul who grabs your flag and thinks he is going to score and right be 4 he does BOOM!!!! oops my finger slipped!!! something like that. but anyway it sounds like a cool idea and i know it will bring up some problems like balance issues and such but i think it would be pretty fun if they implemented it. what do u think????

it would be cool

it would be like a mine like in splinter cell - pt

but you could just pres a button on the d-pad and it would go off

perfect for ctf

then again if it's used against you
i think everyone would be pretty pissed

I don't think it would be unbalancing. After all, if you plant it in a doorway or behind an object you'll be able to hear the hissing of the plasma grenade, not to mention how bright they are. If you're not paying attention, tough luck.

just think. u could lay down a trap for some noob. throw it on the bottom of a warthog and when they climb in and start going BOOM!!!! that would be funny. i can see the possibilites now.

No. I hated them in Goldeneye and I would hate them even more in Halo 2. Two simple reasons: 1) It pretty much eliminates close-quarters combat and 2) it takes no skill at all. You just sit there and wait for someone to walk around the corner and then press the detonation button. No aiming, timing, or even fighting involved.

what if your killed while your holding the trigger down, would it detonate by itself then, or would it just stop and become a useless or resuable grenade?

Twelve Large ²

An army of sheep led by a lion would defeat an army of lions led by a sheep.

I like it, mainly because I want to turn the troophog into a suicide bombing vehicle (sorry for lack of a better term : ( .. I want to fill it with explosive cell cores, if it's possible, and then send it into a giant destructible enviornment/structure, and watch the aftermath.

I don't know because you could be gaurdin the flag and just stick a grenade on it and if anyone trys to get they will get killed with the plasma grenade.

My guess to balance that out would be that the player has to hold the grenade trigger down until he wants to detonate it. That would be a serious drawback when laying out traps.

But since it hasnt really been spoken of for a while, I kinda doubt we'll see something like that, but who knows

That would make more strategy if you think about. Someone would have to take out the remote grenadier to get the flag safely.

Also, for ctf matches, you could send a banshee with a remote grenade on it and ram it into the enemies base like a kamikaze...MWUHAHAHA
