Ok, I know I am not on here too much but I am pretty busy. I will do my best to come on here and check in and answer any questions you guys might have.

First, the explosions look great, everything does. They added a crapload of bump mapping and particle effects and it is breathtaking.

As for the warthog and the new sound effects, the shifting sound not only sound great, but are functional too. They help you figure out if you are going fast enough not to get boarded. Unfortunately we didn’t do enough boarding to really get the hang of it. For about the first 5 minutes, everyone was so excited to be playing that we all ran around like jackasses. We didn’t do too much experimenting.

When it came to duel wielding, it was really a matter of two things:

1. What type of player are you? Run and Gun or Hang back and use tactics?

2. How much do you rely on grenades?

The grenades have not changed much except for the graphic being 1000% better. The plasma grenades look amazing. completely detailed and not just glowing blobs.

Sorry, but no leaning or goggles were in the multiplayer.

Oh, one thing I did notice is that no one seems to mention is that you can now pause and change your control settings on the fly. My brother plays Southpaw and he had no problem switching as soon as the game began. This might not seem like much, but think about all the time you introduced a friend to Halo and he had no idea what control settings he wanted. You kept having to stop and reset to change profile settings. Should save a lot of time.

I will keep trying to answer your questions and for god sake stop touching me! :)

what i am really consernd(spelling?) about is if a man that is not dualing can even stand a chance against a dualer when in close combat. or are you pretty much screwed.

Yes, you can definately stand a chance. If you are good at tossing grenades, and an accurate shot wit the battle rifle zoomed, you will probably come out on top. If you are duel wielding, it is in your best interest to fire one weapon at a time unless you are right on top of someone. Your accuracy take a SERIOUS hit when you fire both at one time.

How deadly were the explosion barrels? I can see many of my freinds just about to get away and then BOOOM the get toasted.

How was the interactive enviroment? How close is it to geo moding? I think just the effects would be nice to have but if u can do some serious damage to the level that would be cool

How much more to the map is there then what they showed us on the video run throughs and demo movies that we saw? is there much more to the level? I saw a cave into the mountain and wondered what was up there.

How were the turrets? Didi that OWN EVERONE?

When vehicles explode, do the parts do damage? we saw in the e3 2004 video the demoer hit the severed wheel with his rocket launcher, i was wondering if those hurt when they hit?

Thanks for all ur info...

First of all, Kudos to you Stabby for relaying all this inside info, you're a true Halo nut's hero. Anywho, I'll ask someone questions that got missed in the myriad of posts here, and even number em for yer convenience :)

1. Does the Sniper have recoil?
2. Is the BR zoomed in as accurate and/or effective (i.e. 3 shot kills) as the pistol?
3. Are vehicle runovers more dynamic now or a simple but glorious thud and death scene?
4. Someone asked about ragdoll physics, but I'm pretty positive they're utilizing the same kind of death sequence they used in Halo. Confirm?

Thanks Stabby!

I am happy to help guys. It is hard to keep this stuff bottled up, so sharing this info will help pass the next few months a little easier.

1. The sniper did not have noticable recoil

2. The BR is very deadly zoomed, but I did not have the chance to really test it to see if it was as accurate as the pistol. I know its close.

3. The vehicle runovers seem a bittle more brutal because the physics allow a body to slide along the ground.

4. Ragdoll physics were not "true" ragdoll, but the animations for dying are more fluid, and the bodies seem to lay a little more naturally on the ground. They don't seem to do the die and then slouch thing they did in Halo 1.

As for the map, they showed most of it in the video. They are some small spots that they don't show that would make great sniper spot. And they really don't show all you have to do to get the energy sword. It is a complex process. First of all, you need to breach the first wall, then ride the turning wheeel up to the next level. Drop down to the platform, shoot the panel to drop the walkway, wait for just the right time to drop off the end to get to the small area with the sword. Its not that hard to do, but try doing it with out getting your butt blown up, or sniped.

As for the environments, I shot some of the barrels and they blow up very nicely with a cool glowing effect. I never killed anyone with one but it was easy to see how they could help on defense. As for the "geo-modding", it was more a surface level of damage. You couldn't really create new opening by blasting the same spot over and over (like in red faction), but it looked sweet as hell. Also, the windows with the canopies can be effected by shooting the posts that hold the shutters open. The shutter will fall and then you can push your way through, or back up and use the shutter as cover. I didnt do this personally but people were messing around with it. Very nice touch. I have heard that bungie might put in a few spots on level where you can blast through walls completely but I have no idea if that is true.

Do the turrets do alot of damage?

Whel vehicles explode do the parts that fly away do damage if they hit you?

Thanks great insider info!

"Help Help I'm being repressed! Come and see the Violence inherent in the system!"
"Bloody peasant!"
"Oh did you see that? you saw him repress me?"

OMG!!! Surely u say that the sword is hard to get but in the E3 demo, were the rocket launcher is you can see a sword on the floor?
Couldn't you get that, i've prob got lots of things to ask, but my minds gone blank!

When I ment secondary exsplosions, I ment do grenades blow up other grenades around them when they detonate? Grenade piles in Multiplayer have been my biggest dream.

Good question Tomato. I am not really sure but that grenade feature would be sweet.. As for the vehilce explosions, I am fairly sure all of the parts can hurt you. The turret don't seem more powerful than say the one on the warthog, but they look a bit more accurate. No way to tell till we get the chance to sit with it more.

Back the the topic of the heavy flag... how could the MC who can swing a huge rocket launcher like a baseball bat be slowed down by a flag pole it makes absolutely no sense to me.

Because, its obvisouly a flagpole of doom. Its a gameplay feature to even things out. But you can use your imagination and prentend the flag is made of (put material here)
