I am happy to help guys. It is hard to keep this stuff bottled up, so sharing this info will help pass the next few months a little easier.
1. The sniper did not have noticable recoil
2. The BR is very deadly zoomed, but I did not have the chance to really test it to see if it was as accurate as the pistol. I know its close.
3. The vehicle runovers seem a bittle more brutal because the physics allow a body to slide along the ground.
4. Ragdoll physics were not "true" ragdoll, but the animations for dying are more fluid, and the bodies seem to lay a little more naturally on the ground. They don't seem to do the die and then slouch thing they did in Halo 1.
As for the map, they showed most of it in the video. They are some small spots that they don't show that would make great sniper spot. And they really don't show all you have to do to get the energy sword. It is a complex process. First of all, you need to breach the first wall, then ride the turning wheeel up to the next level. Drop down to the platform, shoot the panel to drop the walkway, wait for just the right time to drop off the end to get to the small area with the sword. Its not that hard to do, but try doing it with out getting your butt blown up, or sniped.
As for the environments, I shot some of the barrels and they blow up very nicely with a cool glowing effect. I never killed anyone with one but it was easy to see how they could help on defense. As for the "geo-modding", it was more a surface level of damage. You couldn't really create new opening by blasting the same spot over and over (like in red faction), but it looked sweet as hell. Also, the windows with the canopies can be effected by shooting the posts that hold the shutters open. The shutter will fall and then you can push your way through, or back up and use the shutter as cover. I didnt do this personally but people were messing around with it. Very nice touch. I have heard that bungie might put in a few spots on level where you can blast through walls completely but I have no idea if that is true.
