Wondering about Halo2?

I think that Halo 2 could have co-op support for 4 players. I read somewhere that Bungie
Was trying to find a way to give a fun experience to those who don’t have live and have two controllers around. Does that mean that Halo 2 only supports 2 players per box? If so
I wouldn’t be to mad because it’s better than the single support like rainbow six. Also there was an interview someone asked if system link would be able to support 16 players, Bungie gave no comment to it. So does that mean that Halo 2 will support more or less via system link. I have read that Bungie is trying to get some things ready before the release of Halo 2. Could that be a demo maybe via, OXM? All the best games have some type of demo before release in OXM. Well anyway we will just have to wait until Bungie gives answers or until Nov.9. But to what I said about the 4 player co-op it could happen look at Brute Force, 4 player split screen and you could play one person per xbox. It was a cool idea and I think it could be in the works with Halo 2.

"Help Help I'm being repressed! Come and see the Violence inherent in the system!"
"Bloody peasant!"
"Oh did you see that? you saw him repress me?"

if you read Halo First Strike it ends with 4 Spartans, co-incedence? i'd like to think not

BUT IF BUNGIE DARE SCREW US OVER like Spliters 2 did, with only 2 max per X-Box in System link IM SO GONNA SHRED THEM A NEW FACE! 4 per Box is awsome for System link!

2 player co-op is fine! And its more complicated than you think, they had to reduce the number of covies in Halo 1 to fit co-op in. If it was 4 player co-op they wouldnt have as many opponants for you to face.

lol i dunno whatever works out on November 9th, well im going midnight on november 8th(technically its november 9th at 12o'clock)

what if instead of just 4 player co op on 1 xbox, you could do 4 player system link co op, so everyone could have thier own screen, and with the 4 xboxs working together, there wouldnt be any lowering of the graphics/AI quality.

Not really, 4 players could be just a fun feature to have not so much having skill to beat the game just to be able to play 4 players via split-screen or system link support for 4 players you don’t think that would be awesome?

Yeah man, it would be awesome! Maybe they can do, you know, with 3 or more players that you can only choose Hard or Legendary... you know. cuz else it'd be too damn easy... well, well... or limits on number of lifes... or more damage from the covenant hits. it's all easily programmed... BIG FUN!!!

I was thinking that too, because it would be nice if I am playing as Master CHief through the game and som 3 friends of mine cam,e to play and they want to help me passing the game the just only connect the controllers like BruteForce and the play as the Special forces marines that are always with MC you know like the MC-Bodyguards LOL that would be very F*&^in cool and with a system link coop play OHHH I Think that would be better than Heaven.

It would be nice, but the frame rate might suffer. Because when you think about it, there would have to be an insane amount of enemies to even challenge four human players. Cutting out weapons and power-ups would not be enough.

Believe me, I'd love for this to work. Playing through the campaign on Legendary with a buddy in Halo is just under sheer bliss, because there is always one more seat in the Warthog.

Oh well, there is always something to wait patiently for...

I'd just like to see 2 player online co-op, like Full Spectrum Warrior or Ghost recon.

Edit: I'd also like to see it like Toejam & Earl where you can join seamlessly.

The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

Could you imagine the battles that would take place between the players if there were four of them.? As illustrated in this comic. My friend and I once had a 45 minute heated discussion over who would drive the tank (we let our guns to the talking).

You would not play 4 player for a challenge you would play it to for fun. Though they could probably set up some rules to make it challenging. Like only one of you is a spartan they rest are ODST and you switch off every checkpoint.

4 player co-op would be fun because it gives you a team that you can command. Instead of relying on an XBox Live enabled microphone to give orders, you have real live people that can work as a team and plan out a strategy.

One particular part of a level killing you every time you try to pass it? Grab 3 friends, plan out a strategy using 1 as a scout, 2 as infantry, and 1 as a sniper (providing he can get up high enough to provide cover for the other 3). Then you proceed to systematically take out the enemies and get further on into the stage you were once stuck on. I think it's an awesome idea.

I use this same approach when doing team deathmatches or capture the flag. It gives you a sense of satisfaction knowing that you just planned out an attack that cost the other team a victory. I'm really looking for to the rumored team elimination deathmatch option in Halo 2. God I hope that makes it in there.
