that sounds cool dobber, like in a 10 person match have 2 defend and 8 attack, the only catch is that the defenders only need to hit the people rushing their base a few times for a kill. There is something very similar to this in conker's bad fur day multiplayer. In ConkersBFD the only way the people attacking could damage the defenders was to touch a switch in the middle of the map visible to the defenders.

This might be a stretch for a gametype in halo2

This isn't a new gametype, just a change in respawns. I think that when you die, a pelican could bring you (and possibly some of your teamates)back to the game.

that would be cool but when would these pelicans come? every 30 seconds. This could be too much if a player just misses the pelican and has to wait 30 seconds to get a ride or too little if u die right before the pelican takes people back. If it was a set amount for every player than 2 many pelicans would be coming in for large games. There are positives though such as an end to spawn killing. And on the zanzibar level pelicans could return the defenders while boats could return the attackers. It could work if done right. Although i think that the simpler solution is often times the better one - normal respawn.

It could come once you die, or wait for a certain amount of people to die before it lauches (like 15 seconds or 3 people)

How about making a game type like Jedi Acadamy's siege? You have to do/defend all these different things before time runs out, that would be way cool! Like the humans have to turn off the secruity before than can enter the base, then find the computer with the info of where the covi home world is, then escape with the info without dieing. I think that would be cool.
