Yes kids should not be allowed to play untill 17:  27%

Kids get to play but they get restrictions to play:  32%

That little M on that cover means something parents no kids under 17 should be allowed to play it HALO 2 is a adults game and should be taken very seriously when kids play it some people the age 18+ use "colorful" language in this game.
And i also think kids should not be allowed to go to bungie.net because they can be obnoxious and rude this is one of the many reasons that the HALO/Bungie community is being downgraded.
One example is that kids can insult us and not get a punishment because they might live 1000 miles away.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

As much as I dislike hearing screaming little kids, I myself am under 17, so I must say no. I can't change my age, only my maturity. Also, Halo 2 multiplayer related discussions belong in Zanzibar.

  • 04.05.2005 8:15 PM PDT

In my opinion, the Mature rating means that in order to play the game, you must be a mature human being so that you don't ruin the game for everyone else.

While there are 15 year olds who are more than mature enough to handle an M rated game, there are also people who are over 17 who aren't mature enough to play DDR, much less a game like Halo.

I don't really see how this is a Septagon topic...

Ach! Was ist los?

Agreed. I turned 17 less than three weeks ago, and I've been a functional, literate member of this community for ages.

I'm 13 and more mature then some people above 17. Your making a generalisation.

I don't think age is the biggest problem on live or in the forum. people over 30 can still behave like a 6year old. I'm 16, but in my country the games rating is 16+ (violence) anyway.

  • 04.06.2005 3:24 AM PDT

Gnop doesn't have an M rating.

Actually, neither does Halo 2 everywhere. For instance, where I live, there's a recommended minimum age of 16 (though no legal minimum age, so children could quite legally buy a copy and play it).

I don't think you should "blow your own trumpet".

Admittedly, there are 19 year olds posting here whose maturity/intelligence levels fill me with fear for the future of humanity, but it's still not wise to claim that you're better than them.

As much as I hate little kids screaming and just being annoying they are still part of the community. Banning them would be unfair, probably illegal. Since the mature rating on the back of the box holds not bases in law, banning the screaming SOB’s would border on discrimination. Bungie would risk a law suit. Also we were all 9 year olds once, and we all played games we shouldn’t of. Come on games like Goldeneye, or doom. I am 18 and I hate playing the little morons. They have a right to play the game to and someday they will grow up to play halo 4 or whatever else. They are the future life blood of the industry and they deserve a place.
Now a 15 and older game section were they can’t play would be nice. They could still play but we could chose whether or not we want to listen to “I want the sniper!”

Due to lack of a "no" option in your poll, I have to say it here. I'm 14, and your making a horrible generalisation.

Im only 15 and i dont agree with 17+ but with all the "horrible stereotype" he is right. Think about it when was the last time you played with a 10 year old and it felt like someone was jabbing you in the ear with a screw driver. There is also a certain respect among older players. Like right before a game starts many of the older crowd and a very few young will wish eachother good luck. At the end of the game the losing team and the winning team both will tell eachother good game or whatever else. While a younger more immature sob will scream out WE WHIPPED YOUR A--s and it makes you stop and think. I bet there mothers are so proud. anyway i rambled on to much the bottom line is kids can play when they learn to be mature.

Game experience may change during online play.

These "annoying kids" threads are totally getting old. People of all ages can be equally annoying.

So, if I act mature, use correct grammar, and don't scream and curse someone who is a complete stranger to me, I shouldn't be allowed to play, or be a part of bungie because I am 15? Hmm.

* No, its whiny people of all ages (you) that are causing the so-called "degredation" of the community
* Why should people under 18 be disallowed from coming to the site? How would you implement it? Quit yer -blam!-in.

I am 22. In my country, Russia people are strict about game ratings, even though their are barely any. I got my Xbox and games from America by ordering them online. Some 13-15 year olds here play M rated games. Though AO Rated Games (Adults Only!) are highly restricted.

14, aint that smart with big words but i do know i've met quit a few "Mature 17+" people who will say "O, we kicked ur *some cuss word* so saying it's us kids is really not too smart. Age has nothing to do wit Skill level in Halo 2 or matureness in-game.

I think the ESRB rate their games a little to highly. Halo is rated M and they say 17+ is the recommended age, I am 15 and I can handle the blood and cussing. Its not that bad, I'm sure 1/2 of the owners of Halo 2 are under 17. The little kids are sometimes annoying and I think their bad language is a sign of humanity's low moral values. When I was a young kid, we didnt talk the way kids nowadays do. I think the age that people can own a game should be enforced and the recommended age lowered a little.

You didn' even leave a section for no, which is exactly what I think. Sure your over 17, but there's been 8 year olds that have gone to college.

Little kids are annoying, but little kids are not from the age of 17 down, my opinion with this is under 13, teenagers and up. and its up to the parents if they let their kids play. but these are games, for entertainment for everyone. you just put the age limit too high, from 13 and up is my opinion because most of them are mature enough, those who are older than 13 and annoy they hell out of the people on these forums are just -blam!- heads wanting to cause trouble.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

I'm 15 (16 soon) and have been on the site for about 2 and a half years. If I was really that immature/annoying, I'd have been banned by now but I haven't been. Not everyone under 17 is immature.

It would be nice to have a room for older (21+) players to play in. Of course there would still be belligerent people to deal with but it would cut the amount down dramatically. Unfortunately it would be impossible to verify who is 21+ thus making my wish an impossibility. *sigh*

I have to agree here. I am under 17. I cannot help what age I am. I can only change my maturity. I do not like the little little kids that are always yapping and screaming over the headsets and brining the score down.
