Thus he came alone to Angband's gates, and he sounded his horn, and smote once more upon the brazen doors, and challenged Morgoth to come forth in single combat. And Morgoth came.

Wasn't as epic as the other two, but I have never really cared.

Edit: Ah, it wasnt sacred icon...it was oracle...epic.

It obviously tried to recreate the suspense, horror and mystery of 343 Guilty Spark, but the level (The Sacred Icon) failed miserably on all levels when it came to matching 343 GS's introduction.

I agree, but once you knew it was happening it's not easy to make the same feeling. At least they made it relatively creepy. Halo 3's was terrible.. definintely the worst of the three.

The flood intro was on the mission "The Arbiter" (level 4). I starts with the flood infection forms in containers, and then you see heretics fighting flood through murky glass. Definitely not as cool as the intro they got in Halo 1.

DANG

I forgot, it was oracle, not sacred icon!

That was an amazing flood intro.

How the heck is halo 3s intro terrible? It's amazing!

In my oppinion, seeing a ship crash and hearing chief say its worse than Brutes is not as awesome as creeping through a swamp, seeing figures creep in the fog, seeing ships crashed and Covenant running for their lives from something , then going through an empty complex of nothing but blood and bodies. That crazed Marine still kinda sends a shiver up my spine. Wacthing the helmet cam video then realizing that you're locked in a room with those things. That was epic. *sniff* Ah, the good ol' days.

The Room where we have our server almost looks like a large empty room with an ancient death machine in it.

Tell me about it... Halo:CE's Intro for the flood was the most epic. It was creepy going through there. I played Halo:CE coop with my bro, because we were both new to halo. We had to pull in some extra tactics to not fear the map... LOL... The I miss the good Old days when you can snipe someone out of a tank...

Yeah, well, the halo 3 intro wasn't supposed to be scary. You already had the flood scare. It was suppsoed to be suspenseful. Which it was.

Eh, not really. You see a ship come down, the city is in more ruin, and you see some Flood take out a squad of soldiers. Not very scary or suspensful to me.. or anyone else I know, for that matter.

Halo 3's may not have been the greatest, but it was far better than Halo 2.

When I looked down through that glass floor, heard that annoying growl and saw them attacking the other aliens, I was like 'Oh, Flood'

But then again Half-Jaw's remark made it quite obvious that we would see Flood that level anyways :P

Since we all knew the flood would be there, it was not a shock like in CE. In the original that was the big twist, space zombies! I loved it, and GS343 was the most intense level once you got exposed to the hoardes and started down that elevator that you thought was going to be your salvation.

In H2 the big shock and the thing that you immediately realized was going to be a big massive huge pain in your arse were the jackal snipers. The flood you could plan for and deal with, the JS you had to FIND KILL and DUCK from the whole game after they first appeared. I far more fear them than I ever did the flood!

Does anyone even read these?

Nothing can beat Halo: CE's entry of the Flood merely because it was just so awesome and we didn't know about the Flood until then.

To play or not to play....

Halo CE had the best Flood introduction ever. Halo 2 was pretty good though but Halo CE was downright cool.

343 GS is my favorite level, except for maybe Truth and reconcilliation. If you read this, you can see how they go alot of the horrer elements from the ALIENS movies.

Originally, if you went past the crazy marine and walked a little ways, you would hear a pistol shot, come back, and he'd be dead. But they couldn't get it to work so they just made him an enemy. I think his actor is still called "marine_suicidal" in the game though.

The flood intro in halo 2 wasn't as good, but halo 3's was worse. Halo 2 also had some fairly good flood gameplay. Nothing like the library though. Still, quarintine zone is EPIC!

Halo 3 flood combat sucks. Who the ~blam thought of flood that go on walls and snipe you?! That's not flood combat! Flood combat is running backwards shooting your shotting into a crowd of persuing flood all jumping at you, until you hit a wall, then just prey you don't use up you're ammo, then keep going foreward, all the while the monitor is like "Ah, I am genius, he he he he".
