I have been playing Brute Force lately, and although it is a good game, i couldn't help but notice that Brute Force is very similar to Halo. ( only no where near as good as Halo ). Post what you think about Brute force and what you think about its similarity to Halo.

I have to finally admit to you people I'm actualy a games reviewer. I'm not a profesional yet, but I do some reviews for my local clan and a few other gaming clubs. I always thought that Brute Force was more related to Rare's Jet Force Gemeni than any other game in fact, or just a Sci-fi game clone of Conflict Desert Storm. More or less a mix of the both, gameplay wise. Definatly not a Halo clone, they don't even belong to the same genre of video games. Brute Force is a "Team based 3rd Person Shooter" and halo is a "Ist Person Shooter". I don't think I need to say more.

It is true that Brute Force is a third person squad-based shooter, however, the controls and many of the ideas are derived from Halo. The 2 weapons at one time is directly from Halo. However Brute Force does have an excuse for the similarities that it bares to Halo. They are both produced by Microsoft games. Halo is far better than Brute Force, but i find that the 2 are so similar that by playing one of them, i get better at the other one as well. Anyway you look at it, if Brute Force isn't a 3rd person Halo clone, then it is at least close.

Welcome to every FPS game and most TPS games as well.

I haven't played Brute Force, but I think since its third person team based its not too much like Halo. Similarities: Sci-fi and shooters. There are also about 100 other games that have those similarities. I'm not sure if I would consider two weapons an obvious rip off of Halo. Some games designers just realize how stupid it is to be able to carry 5 rifles, 2 rocket launchers, a sniper rifle, and six different pistols. With two you are holding one, and the other is slung over you shoulder or something. Just because two people draw the same conclusion does not mean one took his idea from the other.
