Ok, let's stop the train and forget about the points idea guys. If blackeye doesn't like it, then we can't do anything. (He is the center of the universe you know) [/sarcasm]

Well, lets see if we can come up with other ideas.

I liked the idea where you had to be specifically chosen to get more privileges.

perhaps a system that could work is the system that they have at red vs blue... give people say 20 mod points where they can mod other member posts... this would hopefully eliminate spam and irrelevant posts while rewarding thoughtful , insightful and interesting posts.

This is the best idea. Leaving it up to the community is a risk, making the mods to it is too much work. We want them to be doing more productive things.

The problem is that this idea has so many floors. For example, people may not give points to posts that deserve it. Pepople would brag about how many points they had, people would abuse the system in other ways... and so on.

However, i do think that if we were not told how many points we had, people wouldn't be able to brag. Still, the point system really wouldn't work here. Perhaps the only place i know where it may work is in The Septagon. That's it. Even then, the points may not be correctly distributed.

I support creativeness. Although this would just be giving most members the equivilient of an auto spam button or a auto abuse button.
