Ok. One, and only one person should write to Achronos or another Bungie person and explain to them this matter. They know that the Council is being discussed, but they aren't taking action. Who should write the letter/PM? Let it be someone that knows what the Council should be and someone that can spell properly...

H47 ;-)

If someone should write... again, than i suggest it's a mod. Why? They simply aren't ignored so easily. Wich mod? Well Goweb of course, since he's the one who started this thread.

This is the way i think it should be done, if you don't agree say so, if you do, say so ;)

Bungie are obviously the very final deciding factor here. But moderators and the general community are the ones who will know the best people. Names are put forward in this letter you've been discussing, and Bungie should then look through the list of the people they see worthy.

Unfortunalty, as with any plan, there are floors. For example, some people who work their asses off to be active here, might not even be mentioned *Cough* me *cough*. Oh well.

Spelling C'mon correctly helps your case....Spelling Guardian Hunter right also helps too. Having a large active group doesn't necessarily mean that the person would be a good council member. Also, I seriously doubt that Mjolnir Battle Tactics is the most active group on the Column.

Right. I don't think we can conclude which group is the most active, now that there are so many.

Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

Yeah, Halo, sorry. I was gonna mention you, but I forgot. As for what you said, ditto. Anything I can do to help.

Oh, if I came off angry that was not my intention. If I wasn't nominated, I wouldn't have really cared. I wouldn't want the job if you all feel someone else is more qualified then myself. I was just stating that so Ghandi wouldn't feel like everyone else was nominated, but whatever floats your boat.

Also, I don't know if 7 is enough but I do know that 17 is way too much.

In reply to everyone talking about their own group size, it doesn't matter at all. Hell you don't even need to have a group at all. Whoever is chosen should be chosen for their own specific traits/how well of a job everyone thinks they would do. Just because your group is enormous doesn't make you more qualified.

Yeah, which is why I decided to stop bringing it up. We also can't conclude that there is a most active chapter on the Column, since there are so many these days.

I think we need to stop the group issue and get back on to whether this would be a good idea or not. We need people that are active and helpful. I am here 6 - 8 hours a day (not to be boastful or anything) and plenty of other people are.

Well, great words Halo53. people should be chosen for different traits. A team made up of people who are chosen for a specific purpose would be good. Very good idea. and this is why we all worship you.... what? you mean you guys don't worship him too?!

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Someone they like. I am not liked so i wont do it. But i think if they know the person then they will take it seriously

Just Another Fan, I think 12 members is a good idea. I think we might be ready for the next step. Mingiling for 10 more pages isin't going to help us out. We need someone to write the PM and contact Goweb.

Well, it doesn't really matter. Maybe Rip-Saw? as he seems to be 'in with the mods' ;)

yeh. i guess you're right actually. good thinking. he'll be here soon...

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

I actually think that nine members would be perfect. That way, if there was any voting for something big, the members could divide into three groups and vote on the basis "Majority rules". Then, once the individual group voting is finished, the three groups would vote the same way. Of course, this would only work if there were only two options...

Sorry Halo53. I would have voted for you, but I haven't seen you around much and was worried that you wouldn't be active enough. If you are, then by all means you should be on the council.

And, before we get Goweb to send out a PM, shouldn't we get the final member list together? So far, the only people I know that are set in concrete to be part of this are Guardian and Toast.

Pink Menace

And don't say me(not like you were going to anyways) because i know im not good enough.

the council could provide an effective medium of communication for the community. Instead of the current medium, which usually consist of active community member John Doe having his legitimate concerns get lost in the sea of Sketch’s PM fan mail or in the jungle of threads seen on b.net everyday, John Doe could bring his community questions, ideas, and concerns before the council.
- Eagle 117
An awesome idea for sure. The council could really help out in that area.Posted by: Ghandi 2

I'd almost got he opposite route and say a huge chapter would make being a council member difficult. I put mrsmiley on my list knowing full well he'd reject and nominations in that area. He's got a chapter to run, and he runs it.Posted by: Lord Paul of Opp
Say I am the leader of a large, active, growing group. Well, I would have to keep everything in check, well at least most of it. I would have a great deal of responsibility, and i would have to make wise decisions all the time.
For your chapter. Big sucessful chapters require their founders to be there, not in the council. Carefully consider the consequences of responsibility.

I think everyone is read to discuss what the council will do now. It's been brought up a few times. No more talk of messaging Bungie either. They've seen this thread a dozen times I'm sure. If you were Achronos, wouldn't you rea devery sticky? He's probably watching how this develops out of curiosity.

Rip's list of 53 people was nice, but we all know that the council will only have a small number of people. Since it isn't sure hwo many exactly, i decided to make a list of 14 people instead:

Banshee barron
BobBQ
Eagle 117
GameJunkieJim
Ghandi 2
Halo53
Impurity
Josher 35
Littlerat
Lt Devon
marinealver
Psyched
Rip Saw
VII Toast

making this little list was damn hard, since ALOT of people deserve to be in the council. However, these are the people from whom i suspect they will be the most succesfull members.

I tried to be as objective as possible and i tried to avoid to choose people that i simply know. I'm sorry if i offended anyone by not putting them in my little list.

Actually, that is pretty accurate.

I hate everything, but it's not my fault.

That is a good list JAF, definately the best made so far, and I think it would be wise for Bungie to implement it. Especially since I'm on it ;-)
