Ok. The mods are absolutely Bungie's choice. Council members should not have the ability to do anything in the main forums at all. The forums are not the column.
I like the idea of council members having free reign over any chapter (except those maybe marked as do notr enter AKA HFCS), no restrictions. That's the only way they could check out a chapter without the founder knowing, sort of like a surprise inspection.
I feel that a couple of months of being here is absolutely necessary to be on the council. Sure, some people are really super and cool, but they COULD fake it for a month, I've seen some pretty tenacious trolls.
I think that if you were asked to be a Mod, but are a member of the Council, you should have to either resign your place at the Council or refuse Modship.I agree. mods won't have time for the council and vise verse. Plus, giving someone THAT much power may not be good for them. Imagine suddenly getting that level of mail.
If they don't support us in this, then it would probably be very difficult to do this by ourselves.Apparently, Sketch really wants this to happen. If we didn't have the support of bungie, I surely wouldn't be doing this.
As for revising the list, let's just determine what the counsil will do first. Why would you vote/back someone into a position of power not knowing what power they will have? That woul be foolish.
We really ought to have a full list of powers we want council members to have somewhere. A new post maybe? By someone who is willing to update it daily, maybe twice daily? It would basically mean the creation of another thread to discuss solely the powers the coucil would be granted. Do I hear any seconds?
Well, yeah, it is Bungie's choice to decide who becomes a moderator. And we shouldn't have any more privs then the next person, like you said.
I am just super-glad that Sketch wants this to happen. If it wasn't for that, then this wouldn't work out. But how are we going to make another thread based on this?
I was just thinking this for what the Council can do:
* Update The Community section if necessary.
* Put groups in the Spotlight.
* Get news and information on groups.
* Answer any good FAQs about groups and such.
* And maybe, be able to browse certain groups.
