So the question is this: What do you guys see the Council doing, and do you think that it's a good idea?
Besides the obvious responsibility of playing WoW with the in crowd... There, I said it;-)... the council could provide an effective medium of communication for the community. Instead of the current medium, which usually consist of active community member John Doe having his legitimate concerns get lost in the sea of Sketch’s PM fan mail or in the jungle of threads seen on b.net everyday, John Doe could bring his community questions, ideas, and concerns before the council. On top of offering a more effective medium of communication for the community, this council could highlight community members' works (fan fiction, news worthy articles, theories, etc.), bring the limelight to interesting groups, help in setting up community events, and be allowed to curse profusely at b.net morons. Wait... cursing is still the hip means of communication around here, right?

That is a pretty good discription of what the council should do.
Also: 7 people is not enough. That would put too much work in too few hands.
15 or 17 seems alot better to me.
here are some things that the council should do:
1: Promote the 7th column
2: Chapter Spotlight: every few weeks a good chapter gets to be in the spotlight
3: Event promotion: Whenever some sets a tourny or a LAN fest, the council can help promote it.
4: highlight community members' works (fan fiction, news worthy articles, theories, etc.)
5: Answer the obvious and not so obvious questions about Bungie and the column and etc.
6: Help new chapters getting started (ACS/Cfounders involvement?)
7: is darker
8: Bring community worthy news every week.
9: Bring back the community spirit
I hope that that list sums things up, if you know something else, or disagree with something, please say so.
