Yo Halo53, I'm real happy for you and I'ma let you finish, but Beyonce had one of the best bungie.net profiles of all time. OF ALL TIME!

The site has ben around for 3 and a half years. That would mean 50% of the members have been around for a maximum of 6 months and most people seem to think we should have 11 members. I can't think of 5 or 6 members that have been here for 6 months that I think deserve the position. I think people should stop judging people based on their join date. To tell you the truth, I see more post 11/9'ers being biased about it in this thread as compared to the number or pre 11/9'ers that seem to care about it.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

Exactly my point. If there aren't many post 11/9ers taking an interest in the council, how would half the council be made up of post 11/9ers?

Maybe they just never noticed it? Most of the old timers I know are already on the list and or replied to the thread, I am pleased that some of the old guys are around still and willing to be apart of this.

Everyone on my list except Simen and Tanikanze have accepted their nominations.

And I feel that the Council should be made up of the older members. However, I admit that I am prejudiced against the newer members.

I haven't seen Tanikanze in a long time. Maybee its because i'm not on much.....

As for the dates necessary for members of the Council, there isn't going to be many post 11/9ers anyways, even if they are able to join. But you have to realize they can't be that old. VII Toast hasn't been here for a year yet. Alot of very good members haven't.

The joining date mostly means nothing. It just shows how much time the person has had to earn respect and trust from everyone. The real issue is trust, and some of the people in this thread can't be trusted, yet at least. It's not really about your "member since" date.

Well regardless of what u all may think, though most of us joined after H2, we are still just has mature has the rest of you.

I do agree that more of u pre h2 members post here, so the council should consist of more of you.

Call me slow but if I knew about this, I would of put my name down, but I'm 24 hours late, so I'll leave.

*sob*

Anyhoo, the idea of council is good, so good luck with it.

You can still go on my list if you want.

Alot of older members are prejudice to the newer member that is why if a council is comprised of a majority of older members then that is the kind of chapters they are going to be in and consider for the spotlight because they can't appreciate the new stuff.
The few people that I think would comprise a good council are not this way at all. In fact, many of the older chapters have been spotlighted in the past and wouldn't need to be again for a good, long while.

I wouldn't mind a council full of old members, but I'd rather see an almost even mix, with the pre-hawtness members of Bungie.net holding a one person majority. That way, if there ever is anything to vote on that is important, the smart people, and by smart, I mean well-versed in the way things used to be and who know what the good times were like, could overrule the fools. And by fools, I mean those who think they have a good idea, but all the smart people know it'll fail because they've seen it fail in the past.

Maybe I should have used different words...

Yeah, maybe ;)

Basicly good ideas though. A one person majority would be ok i guess. But let's just not say that older members are smarter ok? ;)

A lot off good ideas. We can keep on stacking them so we have this great plan which continues to grow, maybe it's time for someone to make the call.

I suppose this idea is a ok compromise since older members are theoretically more versed in the ways of bungie than new members.

but how versed can u get? If u havnt learned the ropes of Bungie by now you dont deserve to be a member.

I dont mind more of the oler members, but i would like to see some of the post h2 guys in it has well, just to be fair.

I would say about 2/3 older members, but we should have representatives from the newer ones too, to hear what they have to say.

The thing is, even though post H2 members are allowed in the council, they won't be voted as much anyways. I am sure that most of you can't name any more than a hundfull you want in the council that are post H2. I think debating so much about this subject is a bit unnecessary.

I could name many, but there's hardly any old guys anymore. I'm not talking about post Halo 2. I'm talking about pre New-hotness.
