Erm. I think it will still happen, just not yet. Performance first, search next, then the rest.

And their next project.

It is the soldier, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It is the soldier, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It is the soldier, not the campus organizer, who has given us the freedom to demonstrate. It is the soldier, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. And it is the soldier who salutes the flag, who serves the flag, whose coffin is draped in the flag that allows the protester to burn the flag.Father Dennis Edward O'Brien, USMC

GUYS THE SEPTAGON IS STARTING ANEW

This may mean that the council has a chance to start up. Yoozel mentioned the Spot Light.

Thats a step in the right direction. lets go!

Yoozel was referring to Chapter Founders. Not the whole Septagon. Or the council, for that matter.

He said he wanted to make the septagon a place place to ask and answer questions.

Bungie is probably way too busy with more important things, such as their next project, yo be concerned with the Council. I'd be surprised if we hear anything in the next few months.

Wow, gone for 2 weeks and still nothing? Whatever else they are working on must be important, or this isn't priority, best to stay hopeful though.

In fact, i bring some good news: VII Toast, who was/ is very onvolved with the entire council idea, is now ofcourse a mod, and now he'll be trying to push the idea though to sketch!
Rejoice!

With the new mods, we might actually see something happening. Just have to see what's around the corner.

I haven't read every post here but I think that the group idea was good, also, I think the council should be answering the petty questions like "how do you become a moderator" instead of having bungie waste their time answering them, more time for them to work on H3 and bungie itself. I think that the High council should be familiar with the seventh coloumn and the members of the forums should be familiar with them. They shouldn't have to be computer geniuses, but they should know how to hit the submit button a few times. In other words, they can't be people who just sit back and watch conversations, they should be people who actively reply and post, all in all, I'd love to have a role in bungie, no matter how small. (as long as it's not cleaning out toilets.)

I think that we've advanced the idea of the council as far as we can without actually implementing it, so I suggest that we leave it alone until the mods or someone at Bungie has time to implement it...

It was a cold day near the southern base in Blood Gulch. Cortana and I were relaxing over a game of Go Fish, WHEN OUT OF NO WHERE 700 BANSHEES CAME FLYING IN!!! I GRABED MY SPARTAN LASER AND LET HELL REIGN DOWN UPON THEM. I HOPPED IN THE NEAREST WARTHOG AND TOLD CORTANA TO GET IN.

No. We need to refine it more, bug Bungie more. Keep asking untill we get noticed. I may take another year, who knows. But just keep asking. Keep this a sticky, and keep it at the top.

I'll be on my own side.

Forgive me for not knowing, but is the Council an existing group? I dont wanna read 35 pages of posts.

It's better described as a group of people, dedicated to this site so much that they want to help move it on.

When/If it is formed, we basicly become moderators without any power, not even that. We just become that slight bit more important.

O_O you looked at your friends balls when "he" sat on your head O_o

i would see the council as a group of people who promote groups, warn groups if they are doing anything wrong, helping 7th column users and group administrators when they are having a hard time.

  • 09.08.2005 4:31 PM PDT

I'm not that active, but never dead.

If any of you remember Matt Soell..wait never mind you don't. (Except for the Old-school :) )

Anyways, The council would basically add Content to the 7th Column. Articles, Spotlight, news stories, and maybe even organize tournaments!

Just to refresh everyones mind, here is what the Council could do:

Promote the 7th column:
Put groups in the Spotlight
Get news and information on groups
Interview group founders
Conduct surveys/gather intel on the current community status

Maintain the Community/7th Column area:
Search for community worthy news
Post Community-worthy news
Update Column News
Update The Community section if necessary

Take off workload from Achronos:
Answer any good FAQs about groups and such
Answer many Bungie and Community questions
Approve/reject new chapter themes
Approve/reject new avatars
Make a list of rule breakers

This seems a pretty good list of responsibilities, and in my view (not necessarily yours) it should be the one we stick with. It may need some ajustments and/or additions though.
