yeah dude she is already dead shes a freakin computer chip
She's dead physically... but she is sentient, so she is actually alive.
Maskless Grunt
Grunt Well, if you read the halo novle "The Fall of Reach" it says that when an A.I. gets to be about 7 years old it gets so much knowledge that (let me put it as if she were human) she will forget to "breath and eat" so that she would go haywire. Don't know if that would kill her or make here evil.
That's stupid. I know its part of the storyline, but its stupid. Its like this - you can hook up a thousand million hard drives to you computer, each full of a terabyte of data, but it won't even make your computer slower, because your computer is not trying to process all of that at once. Now, if you try to store all of that in RAM, it will crash your computer. Presumably, Cortana would know better than to try that, but even if she did, the boot system and POST are hard encoded into chips, so you could just restart. The only thing lost would be things on RAM that had not yet been written to Hard Drive, like shutting down with an unsaved .doc. If there was to much data, you could simply add more hard disk space, and I'd assume she'd know better than to delete her personality files - which should be hardened against deletion. In other words, 'rampancy' is BS.

cortona was hot I hope she returns and doesn't betray mc and if they have to blow earth up maybe cortona would have found a way to turn into a solid instead of just being a regular ai that way we can watch mc and cortona duke it out :] :) :} :] :) :}
Well, she might already be solid - she is both weapon and physical collision enabled in Halo 1. (As the rather wierd video of her getting killed by a banshee shows.) Might just be a glitch or oversight, but it might mean something. Otherwise, they could use a force field to allow her to manipulate things physically - shooting her wouldn't do much though, but presumably there would be a core somewhere, or they could build an android body for her. But yes, it would be rather cool for her to be able to actually fight.
Finally, you'd think someone would put a computer net in the Warthog. (That would be neat if Cortana could fire the Warhog gun.)
