Hello there everyone. I am relatively new to Bungie, Halo, and XBox Live, so this suggestion may be a dumb one and reveal my ignorance - but here goes:

It would be awesome if when I'm on Bungie.net viewing my Friends list if I could send a message to one of my buddies that is playing Halo 2 or something on XBox live.

Could this be accomplished or is it technologically impossible?

Thanks for not ridiculing me :-)

-Quaere verum.

Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

Hmm. That would be quite a good idea i guess. It would have to be text only and there would have to be a keybord charater selection that is identical to the one avaliable live.

Yeah, now you have to stand all the way up and turn on your Xbox, what a bummer...

Technically possible, but probably infeasible for Bungie right now. That kind of integration with a .net passport would have to be looked into and coded by the Live team at Microsoft.

That would be really cool. You should take this directly to Bungie.

I'm certifiable.

It was brought up last December (I think... anyway soon after release but not right after) and everybody thought it was a great idea. But technical issues made it not feasible... Microsoft techs fainted at the idea of trying to tie Xbox Live and .NET Passport together in a way that wouldn't break security on both. Apparently it would take a lot of development (which means time and money) to pull off.

*sigh* It would be cool, but not cool enough that I'd be glad to pay $100 for Halo 3 because of it.

Well life would be perfect if they were no idiots, but it that's not the case.

It'd be too much work and Bungie is already working on something else, if you can't tell, they are being more secretive than ever right now.
