I did this a couple of weeks ago and found it to be the hardest thing I have ever tried to do, in CE or H2:

Legendary Solo Campaign playing Assault on the Control Room with the following conditions/restrictions:

1-ALL kills by melee or grenade only, with the following exceptions:

.......the opening battle, you may use your AR (no pistol) and grenades to get through the first checkpoint

.....you may use a rocket launcher to take out Wraiths and Banshees, but NOTHING ELSE (no limit on rounds to destroy the target, but please do not continue to pound said target to get splash damage on stray covenant once it is no longer firing at you)

....you may use 2 sniper rounds TOTAL (NO MORE) to take out the Hunters that appear on the opposite bridge mid level

2-Vehicles-you may use for transport only, back and forth to weapons/health caches. You may not have any Warthog passengers at all throughout the level, nor can anyone man the chain gun (including you) while the Warthog is stationary. Nor can you use the ghost plasma cannons to fire on any enemy.

This was an absolute stone cold SOB to accomplish, but I did. It took alot of patience, dying and strategy. There are weapon combos that aid you, even though you cannot fire anything but the rocket launcher. Certain weapons aid in grenade tosses or scoping out from afar. Certain weapons are better for melee. I think you get my drift.

I would be very interested to see if anyone has attempted this (would not surprise me at all!), or how people react once they try it. Took me four days, on and off playing a few hours a day to finally make it to the end.

Good Luck!

E4web

I have quite a few but they involve finishing 343 Guilty Spark/Library with just a plasma pistol, so I'll just have to give you this challenge instead.

Record how long you can survive against the infinite Flood Swarm on the opening of Keyes (mark time from when Cortana says "threat level increasing")... on Legendary. Most I got was like five minutes. Then I ran out of ammo. :(

I have tried both. Personally I love just using a PP as THE weapon on any level I can. It is a blast to snipe with it and take down everything (including Wraiths) from looooong distance. I think my record on the Keyes flood area is about 2.5 minutes, I do not put enough distance between me and them. That is a riot to play over and over to try to extend it.

womyfts, I like your challenge, and can do it in some levels, but I really doubt that you managed to beat Keyes and The Maw doing this. In some areas in Keyes, there are simply too many Flood to hide from, 'nade, or run past, and melee really doesn't help you when half of them have shotguns.

In The Maw, sometimes the same situations pop up, as well as some areas where you can't help but splatter some enemies with the Warthog.

I did not do this on Keyes or the Maw, just AotCR. All of the non flood levels can be done like this if one has a mind to do it. It is just the hardest non flood level to do this way. My original post started with the following:

I would wager, like me sometimes, you just did not see my reference to the level I was specifically talking about. No worries, I have done the same kind of post when I did not see something the poster had mentioned.
