One of the biggest things I want to see identified and eradicated is the host advantage.
I'm sick and tired of either:
A) Me and my big bad 15, another 15 and two 14's don't get host. We are then paired against a team of 19,19,18,15. WTF?!?!?
or
B) Actually getting host, but then it taking 10 minutes to find a group of people who don't back out because they didn't get host.
It's absolutely ludacris. Teams should be paired up with a MAXIMUM (read, AT THE MOST) a 2 level discrepancy. (i.e. A team of 15s and 14s gets paired up with ONLY players ranked 13-17).
I hate being a level 14-15 and consistently playing against players ranked 18 and higher. I thought the point of the level was so that players could be matched against those of similar skill level to ultimately have a fun, enjoyable experience. It's absolutely NO FUN being paired with against a team who is up to 6 levels your superior. And on top of that, the higher levels being able to manipulate the system so that they have host (which automatically gives you Red Team, and damn near guarantees that your team will have the highest ranks).
So, I implore you, please make this right.
That being said, I think that stats should DEFINATELY BE RESET! Cheaters be damned, and crybabies be given tissues. I don't care, I'll lose my level. Oh no. Got to play Halo 2 more. Woe be me.
Now that I've actively campaigned my viewpoints, on with the compliments.
I CAN NOT WAIT for Warlock. There was nothing better in Halo CE than a good ol' fashioned round of shotty's in the circular arena. Of course, my circle of friends called our shotty-only no-shields variant of the classic game type "KILLTACULAR" because that's what would scream out from one of the 4 T.V.'s set up in my buddy's basement at any given moment. Those were the days. The only thing better than a Wizard Killtacular, mayhaps, was a LONGEST (starts chant: BRING IT BACK! BRING IT BACK!) Killtacular. Or a Hang 'Em High (repeats chant: BRING IT BACK! BRING IT BACK!) Running Riot (our highly stylized game type used only on Hang 'Em High where you had human weapons on map, started with a pistol, and there were no shields. Hence the name).
All-in-all, I cannot wait for the Updates, the Maps, the Fixes. I wish all points could be addressed, but I realize that is just not feasable.
I'll definately be buying the maps as they come out, and I'll also buy the disc when that comes out. I'm f'n hardcore. But I love the first two free ones.
In the immortal words of Banky Edwards (Chasing Amy): Bring on the free hooch.
