during your regeneration it seems its total defence is weakened so you will be hurt if its interupted like a grenade.

can someone tell me if this is true.

I can only deduce that you're asking if your shields effectiveness is lessened if you take damage during it's recharge. No, it's effectiveness is never reduced.

But let's get a couple things straight. Your "life" in Halo 2 is determined by two things: Your shields, and your health. If you run out of shields, your health will, of course, start taking damage from whoever's attacking you.

But one reason you may get the impression you die faster, or that your shields would less effective might be this: When your shields become depleted, say, by a frag grenade. It will do enough damage to not only take away all your shields, but it'll chip in to your health as well.

Let's pretend a single frag grenade took out all your shields, and then half of your health. Your shields recharge. And in your next battle, you notice that you died a lot quicker than your normally should've. This is because, as I already said, your health was already damaged from an earlier battle, and it would take half the firepower it normally would to kill you when your shields are done.

Summary? No, your shields never become "less effective".

It shall also be noted that you cannot actually see your player's "health" - it's an invisible variable. Your player's "health" recharges after about 10 second.
