Cortana modifies our sheild to emit an EMP . Funny what you can get in a forum about a game that plays to mainly teens.

Now wait a second. The only militant Forrunner thing you come across in Halo ar eteh Sentials. Perhaps the Forrunner were like the early Athenians, great phlosiphers, not so great militarily after all, the only way they know to stop the flood is to kill everything

Ya, thats weird. If you follow that philosophy, kill all the civilians, so there won't be any civilian casualties in a war. And good point about the philsophical Forerunners. But why would they build such a militant thing as the Halo network.

Remember its not like a destructive force in the way we would think a destructive force would act. This doesnt kill anything with a sufficient biomass, it would vaporize it! The flood can still survive on dead bodies for a short period of time (now all the nerds are gonna yell at me)

The Flood cannot bond to someone that has Boren's Synrome, a neurological disorder caused by plasma radiation that scrambles your neural signals. An energy pulse that causes this would make all the flood's potentional victims unable to be transformed and thus "inedible"(and kill all affected)

My question is, why not build the halo's to kill the flood instead of everything?

Simple answer. They weren't. The Halos, I'm convinced, were not designed to kill the Flood. In the game no one ever specifically confirmed that the Halos were designed to kill the flood. They do happen to accomplish that effect however.

There's no way the Forerunner, could build fortress worlds while battling the Covenant. The Floodexpand too fast, they're too powerful. They are a tidal wave. I think the Halos were already in contstruction when the Flood showed up.

See my Forerunner-Covenant post for my full conjecture.

Ah yes, I forgot about that. Man all this is confusing, that with all that new information that the speed of light being not constant. I don't even pretend to understand relativitey but I get the basic bit of it. And to answer why you can't use plasma like radiation, because plasma is the 4th type of matter , matter can't go as fast as radiation.

Well many of you know refraction right?.....When light passes through an object, it will change direction and speed?.....What if Halo was built on that same principle.......except.....it bends time?

So teh FOrrunner and Covies are battleing eachother. Then y would the Covenant rever as gods, their enemies? Possibly a rebellion within? The "appretace" is trying to replace his "master"?

I'm not sure the Sentinels are militant. The Forerunner, if they intended the Sentinels for combat could have made their devices much more durable. 343 Guilty Spark is nigh invulnerable after all. Of course, by the same token, the Forerunners may not have wanted to give an AI access to indestructible war machines in case they went rampant.

So now the halo is a time machine? I deoubt that the foruners were after bending time, tehy wanted to destroy all life in the universe, see my new theory?

the forrunners are evil bastards

i seriously doubt the Forrunner were after time travle, but hey, maby their idea was to go back in time an dstop the creation of the flood. If thats the case, y do you need all the instalations and a hellacuious "death pulse"?

Again, we don't know the Halos were designed to take on the Flood. (See post above)

I think the Halos were designed like today's nuclear arsenals. The ultimate defense against any invaders. If you attack us and we look like we'll lose, we'll annihilate absolutely everything...

Who would dare?

Halo would only take that long if the explosion or whatever it does travels at the speed of light. It probably uses slipspace some how.

Halo is a massive weapon to repell all invaders. The inhabitance of the galaxy (humans and Covies) are just underdevloped scum compared to the Forrunner and not worthy of theought...interesting take

Building on what Draeden said, rememberm teh Flood are very smart. Perhaps they were the invaders and the Forrunner said, leave or well activate Halo, the FLood called their bluff and the Forrunners fired

Well, in general I hope the Forerunners are a little more compassionate given that I think they are humans.

I think the Halos were built much like most modern militarys are, not for war but for protection. People won't attack a clearly superior force so it's a better defense then trying to put up a wall around the Galaxy.

See my Forerunner-Covenant relationship post below for my full thoughts on the Halo background.

granted, but how does the Flood, the Covenant, and the humans all tie into one? What is our purpose?, lol

Are we merely Lab rats upon which Halo was tested?
