hahahaha no, dude. I just had an idea and was wondering what everyone else would have to say to it, because I thought it was a pretty good idea.
Also, I have an idea as to what halo really is, and why the Covies were really there. I think of it this way: Halo is just a big fallout shelter. Why else would it have an atmosphere capable of sustaining life? If it was supposed to be JUST a weapon, there would be no need for an atmosphere and life-support and all that jazz. So if it went off, people could be living on it while and after it was being activated. Also, this might explain why those weird crystals were found on different planets, particularly Reach. If the Halo weaopon really does work through slipspace, then that crystal would create that bubble around the specified planed, protecting it and preserving life on it. Maybe Reach was a planet that the Forerunner lived on before they all left. What I think is that the Forerunner were in the middle of a war, possibly with the flood, and they set up a futuristic "Missile Defense System" to protect their own in case the Halos had to really be activated (which, they did.)
Maybe the Forerunner have disappeared because there's no more left...they're all dead from whatever war they were in, if they were in a war.
But also, I honestly don't think the Covenant were on Halo with the intentions of using it right away to wipe out all of humanity. I think they were there to study it so that they could build their own Halo and move it close to Earth. Then again...maybe they were just trying to get the Index so they could use it but they never could (after all, there are A TON of Elite combat forms on The Library)...
hmm...ideas?
I like where this discussion is going, though. I'm learning quite a lot about Relativity and the space-time continuum and such.
