Thanks for the links let me live, I'll defintely check them out when I get... around to it ;).
As for the whole Halo 2 Port debate (I won't go in depth, don't want the thread to degrade) but the game is being released for Xbox... not Xbox 2 so we're talking about the exact same technology that Bungie is bending to there will, not some new fangled stuff that no one has yet. Halo 1 ran fairly smooth on my computer (at least bearable), with excellent load and save times (in comparison to other games), so I don't see how Halo 2 will be very much different. (Unless they drop a bombshell at E3 and make it a flagship title for the Xbox 2... that would suck)
Granted there is bump mapping and all that other junk in, this time two fold, but I was under the impression that bump mapping was meant to alleviate some pains a 3D card goes through. Bump mapping makes things look nicer minus the polygons it takes to make those things look pretty... or something.
Of course I could have the whole thing all wrong and not know what the heck I'm talking about... anyways.
Back on track. I would go to Futureshop, but I'm more and more trying to buy direct, more often then not this results in better prices. Big corporations tend to sell things at a large markup price, or rope you into buying warranty that does absoloutly nothing by flashing some convincing looking graphs in your face *looks at Futureshop*.
Anywho, I might just end up buying from a small time outfit locally, or at the very least, see what they have to offer. This time around, I'm little bit wiser, we'll see what happens I guess.
(Side note: I don't care who you are or what arguement you make, controller vs. keyboard and mouse is a no contest situation for an FPS. Keyboard and mouse will always triumph in my eyes.[what a contest that would make, eh? Keyboards vs. Controllers])
