I have this problem when I am in the lobby and when I click on get list, an error box comes up saying "problem contacting the gamespy master server". Before this didn't happen and this happend and I don't know the problem. I tried reinstalling but that didn't work so i'm not sure if it has a virus. Does anyone know what could be wrong?

You can have a firewall running but you may want to disable it just to see if it is the firewall. Double check the actual wires too.

Question 1: What platform are you running Halo on?

Question 2: What kind of internet connection are you using?

Question 3: How many and what kind of firewalls do you have?

Question 4: After Question 3, Have you turned them ALL off??

If you answer these questions correctly, someone should be able to help you. If you answer to Question 1 is macintosh, I should be able to help you. Otherwise, you should just ask around.

Hope you fix it,
Yout3

Whoa! Nothing to worry about. Just had a bit of trouble connecting. Play a bit of campaign to entertain yourself.

I have it too, then i realize the internet connection is "down" (or i stupidly put the internet box on "standby")...

Its the internet's fault, not the game. Id give it a day, then it should work fine.

Ah, so youve turned your computer off and are still having that problem? ;-}
That's not what he meant, but anyways...

Back on topic...what yout3 meant by computer is what kind of computer. like specs. Ex: emachines t1090 with intel pentium 4 processor HT clocking at 3.5 GHz...all the technical crap.

I still stand by what i said earlier...its just a faulty internet connection...give it time and itll repair itself...

wow yout3 no need for him to turn offf his entire firewall, well at least for Windows firewall u can just make it open up for certain applications, also ya if this happens rarely the Gamespy server might ACTUALLY be down, or ur interent is down, i'm not sure bout ur cable box but on mine u can tell if it's down cause the light for "Cable" is off, also check to see if the cable's even plugged into the wall :)

You should never run halo with a firewall on. Firewalls have a tendancy to screw with online games, jman. If it doesnt, i would like to know the brand of firewall you use, so i can get it too...

I use Trend's PC cillin and it doesn't mess with multiplayer.
