January 30, 2004 (Warthog's Day)
The Master Chief emerged from his code. After seeing his dynamically lit realtime shadow, he went back for 9 more months of development.

Behold the power of the Originals, the Gods Axeone-Neurone.

lol. i wouldn't complain about having to fight in a space battle in the beginning, but i seriously don't think so. the cheif is a ground troop first, not a pilot.

He will fight in space Jaime has hinted that you will be able to aim and fire the Super MACs ("large space stations that you aim and fire).

Earth will have way more than 50 MACs. Based on Langrange points and military strategy here is a layout of their placement around Earth and Luna.

I would like to see Halo 2 start with showing the destruction of the Unyielding Hieyrophant. Remeber in the announcement trailer the Cheif has on the Mark VI armor. Somewhere at the begining before he gets to Earth they have to outfit the Spartans with their new armor. Possibly we will see Dr. Hasely and Kelly before the Gettysburg makes it back to Earth.

don't suppose you have the date of that update?

man, watchin the space battle would be awesome. i always tried pictureing the battles from the books.

The date was 04.16.04. Now that I've read it again, I may have remembered incorrectly. He says:
"Joe Staten is very pleased with a new technique he's incorporating into cinemas for the game. Thanks to some code-wizardry, he?s able to render a camera-image to a texture,. In this case, it was a view of an epic conflict through a window of a human ship. Joe says the engineers claim the technique can be applied to any surface, and one programmer told him he could do it on a biped. So, like, we could display an entire cinematic on a Grunt?s eyeball!"

It was developed for cinematics, but mayby it could be used in-game. Who knows?

earth has more than 2 orbital platforms....it has at least 10 cuz one batch=10 platforms

i'd have to say earth has even more than that. Reach had 20, so Earth, as the capital planet and the last stand, should have at least 20, probably 30, but no more than 50 (that would just be ridiculus).

i think that halo 2 should start either with the events of first strike, for those n00bs out there who don't have the sense and/or free time to read the books, or it should start with the trailer. i think the cheif will infiltrate the covie ship, steal a dropship, and from there it begins with the battle for earth.

Hey, just because some of you love halo so much as to get the books dosen't mean everyone else should! Especially if you don't get that much money that often. Some of us have small/no allawance or if you're an adult you'll need to buy more important things like a house/appartment, a car, or tons of other things! So don't call people who don't read the stinking books noobs!!!
