So, the title pretty much explains it all.

The worst thing that I missed from Halo 2 was the superbouncing. I loved superboucing. What is yours?

I missed the mystery surrounding the story of Halo. The first Halo left a sort of... entrancing story that had so many holes and so many pieces of a puzzle we could all work together and solve. It was a beautiful story that made me look forward to its sequel. Except Halo 2 answered almost all of my questions and Halo 3 indeed answered them all.

Why did Elite's wear Forerunner symbols on their armor? What did the symbols mean? Who were the Forerunners? Why did Spark say "But once the others fall suit..." when refering to Halo being activated? What does a Prophet even look like? So many questions that all ended up being answered. With no other mysteries even replacing them.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great story. I just would have left a little more for the fans to speculate upon.

I also loved the mystery surrounding the story. Halo 2 answered some questions, and Halo 3 some, as well as the ARG, but really would have liked to have most questions answered in novel form or through group discussion.

The gameplay is what really calls to me though. It's a shame its style died off after Halo: CE.

The Risk Is Worth The Reward.
Cry Havoc And Let Slip The Dogs Of War.

They style of game play that Halo CE had. That's what I miss the most.

Warthog flippin'! I used to love to take my friends and get warthngs and take them and hit head on with everyone else. you can't do that now since they blow up.

They don't blow up. They just hit each other and stop.

Supreme mastery therefore, is not to be victorious in all your battles; supreme excellence is to be victorious without fighting.

I miss the fact that you were on your own with Cortana for most of the missions. That feeling of responsibility that I have for teamates is gone and I have to worry about how to best manage the next fight in a way that I will survive and prevail. I like that feeling.

Yeah, except you can still fight in the open in Legendary and survive.

The only thing I don't miss from that is the health bars, plasma stun and the motion tracker range.

Ah, but I do miss those. All of it. The Plasma stun made plasma weapons worth using; health bars added to the depth of the combat; the motion tracker helped with your strategy, for me at least, it saves me from death quite often. for instance, I'll crouch-walk from the caves to Blue Base so they don't notice me.

The well-rounded BR for all encounters
Double shots
Intense close up fighting
Faster game play
Not having to ever go into the 2x zoom on the sniper
Midship MLG FFA
Lockout MLG TS
Using Elites as target practice
Having the SMG as basic midrange weapon instead of overpowered AR

The SMG is (and was) a close range weapon just like the AR is. The Sniper in H2 and H3 also have 5x and 10x zoom, the Sniper in H1 had 2x and 10x.

Mostly legible. A few things I remember being good.

"its not the years, its the mileage"

I missed the epic story/mystery of halo. Obviously, that is an aspect that can only be captured in the first game. Other than that, I missed having elites as an enemy, sun flare effects, and health packs. It may sound goofy, but I remember the sun flare effects really blowing my mind when I first saw them, and I missed them in Halo 3. As far as health packs go; it always seemed more "epic" when you finished a mission on legendary with only one health bar. The health bars/packs added a level of tension/feeling of accomplishment that was latter lacking.

As far as the elites go, I never enjoyed playing as the arbiter, and for whatever reason did not enjoy the brutes as enemies as much as I did the elites. I can't fault Bungie for wanting to expand the universe rather than sticking strictly to the formula, but it was just never the same.
