Ack. As some of you might know, I made a clan site(http://halosaints.tn2.org) and I'm trying to make an update section for Halo 2. Well, when I put in all of my code, and test it out, the links that will go to b.net news pages do not work. Instead, they go to 'system error' page, and demand that I email bnetbugs@microsoft.com or something, anyways, it has come to my attention that b.net does not like direct linking. I just wanted to know why this is, considering I've sent emails to the error thing and the webmaster and have gotten zero replies. So I was wondering if any of you out there might be having the same problem. Or maybe the mods know what's going on. I sure as hell don't.

I don't have that problem. Which links are you trying exactly?

No. The link that goes to the main b.net page works fine. It's the links that go straight to the b.net updates that don't work. And my retarded dad was messing around with computer, and now my good browser bar is gone! So I can't put up a link to show you guys. And now I have these browser bars that don't have drop down lists, and don't tell you what site you're at. DAMNIT!

Try looking under the 'view' tab. In IE, there is a toolbars section in that.

Now that I've got that under control, I'll show you what I meant about b.net not liking direct links. Go to http://www.bungie.net/News/Story.aspx?link=F0A8534D-C6B9-4CA6 -8021-3C3AF790197A and a system error page will come up.

Wait. Crap. It seems that only the main stories(Halo Hump Day Happiness) work. The little updates(bungie day, MLG atlanta) don't work. Go to http://halosaints.tn2.org/updates.htm and click 'blurb'. It'll go to 'an error has been encountered!'.

So... nobody knows why the links go to the system error page? Dagnabbit.

  • 07.08.2004 7:10 PM PDT

You shouldn't have a slash at the end of the link.
