I am playing through Legendary, and am about to the place where I am going into the gravity lift. First what 2 weapons should I take? I usually take - sniper rifle and plasma rifle. Also, I consider this the hardest part of the game. Any suggestions to survive past it?

I always take the Plasma Pistol and the AR; keep an eye on your motion tracker for where the next group of Covenant will appear

Also, shoot an overcharge of the Plasma Pistol at any cloaked Elites, then throw a grenade into the group that it came out with

Not so hard...

Personally, I'd keep the sniper rifle, as it's very useful in the T&R's bay. I'd take the sniper rifle and probably an assault rifle. After clearing the bay, switch your sniper for a plasma pistol (as you'll probably be out of ammo already), and finish the level with that combo.

I like my Covenant like i like my woman, screamin and with a sticky on there face.

i think the end of two betrayals is the hardest and through T&R i keep my sniper the whole time and it works fine for me

Got to be sniper and plasma pistol. sniper for taking out cloaked elites and swordies and plasma pistol for everything going. I swap the PP as often as possible and use grenades as often as possible.

Save a few sniper rounds for taking out the hunters and its fairly easy to survive this battle with all marines and good (not always full!) health. Its pretty intense, trying to save all the marines makes this one of the toughest fights in the game.

Also, the snipe can be used in the control room where there is a badass gold elite in the center with a energy sword. But in the first battle after the gravity lift, the plasma rifle works well with the elites. The AR does not seem to be very effecient and I get killed while reloading all the time.
