Aye, same question as above. Why can't we just have a post counter visible to that user only? Because I was thinking and I just figured it would be fun to see how many posts you have made in a year or something.

Does it really matter how many posts you have?

many as you want.

It leads to spam and useless posts.

Recon Number is right about people bragging about thier posts. They probably shouldn't do this. It would be neat but most users on this website just aren't mature enough to handle it. Even i have my days where im frustrated and make random usless immature posts and get a 7 day time out.

Alright. It was just a suggestion. I go to another forum website sometimes and they have a private post counter, but no one brings it up. Meh.

Because post counters are gone forever. Not everything on the site is designed to make you happy. Anymore "why not" questions for today?

Hopefully, that wasn't an insult. Yeah, I am done.

Actually I thought it was, but that's just me, lol.

You might be the next Einstein, but can you please cut your questions down a little. Some of us are becoming annoyed.

I dont think this feature would be as bad as a lot of you are making it out to be.

I go to forums where Starcraft (PC) is the topic of interest and they have custom sigs custom avatars and a post counter including a veterancy system....I rarely see those forums abused.

Of course, Bungie forums are some of the bigger gaming community forums around though.

Only Becausae I'm Awesome

Forum Tutorials --- WATCH THEM AND LEARN

Can't have it cause there would be so many posts just bragging on how many posts they've got.

Here is an example of something that might come up:

dumd dumd 1: "i have x number of post!!! hahahahahhah"

dumd dumd 2: "well i have y!!! so STFU"

for y > x

Then dumd dumd 1 would go off and spam his way past dumd dumd 2 and the forums would be a mess. Sure, perhaps if they kept all the spam in one thread it might be ok, but unfortunantly, the world doesn't work like that. =[

-Quaere verum.

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

I too fear this would happen. Although this may be originaly for good intentions, people would abuse it. I know i sound like a pessimist, but really i'm just thinking Realistically .

Which unfortunately means that we have enough total idiocy to acquire the "critical mass" needed to start (forgive me, but I can't help myself, I have waited so long to use this in context) a wildcat destabilization.

That's so nerdy it kicks ass.

A private post meter would just be another means of everybody going crazy and being the complete ignorant idiots wrapped in moron that they are. Some sites it works for, but with the age variation around here, it would be another battle tactic for someone to say they were better than you. So like those other folks said...and of course Achronos, we dont need one.

I thought about this a lot and i don't think many people would brag about it. This is because there is something that keeps track of how long you have been a member. Its almost the same as a post counter would be. People if they wanted, could use thier membership date to call themselves "vets" or "elites" or whatnot if they wanted. However, i have never heard anyone say this or brag about this though im sure it happens some. Either way the only reason i don't like it is because it will probably make this website lag even more then it does. Right now, whenever i type a letter it takes 3 seconds to show up so ill type a sentence and i can watch it type itself.
