Well, I was playing 343 GS the other day, and two really weird glitches happened. The first one came up when I was watching the cinema scene where the marines land. During the scene where they are about to go inside of the complex, there is a Shade turret in the entrance that I've never seen in that place before. Then Jenkins gets stuck behind it.

Later on, after I had got my shotgun from the pile of dead marines and saw all those marines get killed by the flood, I was going through a corridor and I ran into a marine! I don't really think he could've ran there...it was on an upstairs level! He didn't follow me around, but he shot at a flood guy when I lured him around the corner...it was freaking weird...

has this happened to anyone before?

Wow I can only wonder if you were playing on easy.
The first glith I have no CLUE how or why that happened....

And second you must've been on EASY and got lucky as well because later in the level you find like a group of 4 marines alive and fighting off floods, I guess it is possible to save them if you are on easy.

I managed to save 2 Marines on 343GS in Heroic. All I did was jump down and lay into the Flood with everything I had.

As for the other glitches, I'm clueless.

That Shade glitch happened to me too, but instead Sgt. Johnson had gotten stuck behind it. When I first got out of the Pelican, I ran to the front of it, jumped on the rock, and then on the Pelican. Then I jumped off and got to the place where you can see the marine with no weapon. After that I ran to the entrance of the building with the flood, jumped down and snuck in. The explosion that normally occurs didn't come and neither did the floating ARs, Jackels, or Grunts. I guess that explosion normally knocks the Shade out of the way, but since there was no explosion it blocks some marines from going into that building.

I was playing it on Heroic...and I saw all the marines on the bottom get completely wiped out by the flood.

And another weird glitch happened to a buddy and me when we were playing that same level on co-op and and it was on the same difficulty and everything. We both purposely fell off of that little log bridge that goes to the complex entrance to just explore a little and goof around and stuff. We were out there running along for like five minutes...and I look on the screen and one of those flood elites just pops out of nowhere and runs across the screen. It was alive, but it didn't attack us or anything...we were weirded out and kinda freaked out...

umm...

well, the classification of it is a Combat Form. It's an elite that got infected by an Infection Form (the little popcorn guys) and mutated. If you look at one after you kill it, that thing on the top of it that looks an awful lot like a -blam!- hood is actually the Elite's head and neck. You can see his face on there and everything...assuming you don't shoot it off by mistake first.

Also, if you look at all the infected Combat Forms really closely, you can see all this rotting flesh on 'em and stuff. It's nasty.
