Do you think an "Online Now" icon would be useful?
Example:

The icon on forum post under users name:
Here is an example

On a users Profile:
Here is an example

On Group Member list:
Here is an example

This would come in handy when looking for the nearest moderator. Also lets you know when your friends are on. It could turn on by there last login and deactivate after the sever detects them inactive for more than 10 minutes. It would make thing easy then having to look at there last login to see if there still online.
I know this is fairly easy to implement, and possibly could be done by next forum upgrade. What do you guys think?

Well, all you have to simply do is click on their profile and see their last login. But I guess the first option would be nice, but the second one is unneccessary.

So you want the server to dynamically update all pages in the forums each time any user logs off?

The 8000 pound girder that broke the camels back...

A nice idea though.

haha yeah i just realized that, but the first option or even the option on Group member pages would be cool.
For example:

Got a report? Use the report tool or send a pm.
Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

As said above, good idea but could it be impliamented?

Not a huge problem, now that we have a shiny new e-mail address.

Hey it worked back in the day, lol. We had pretty much everything we wanted back then.

This good idea, I'm just wondering if it's possible now.

Sure, it would make it easier to contact the mods, if an "emergency" occures...

4Base Avalanch MELTDOWN
battle is only a prayer.....
.......Better Start PRAYING!!!!!!!
Chapter Founders Bungie's Group Support
Mob of Angry Peasants

The only emergency on Bungie.net would simply shut down the forums thus eliminating the need for a moderator.

However I perfer the 3rd option. Back in the days of the Old Column there was a sidebox on each chapter showing which member of the chapter was online. Right now I guess the last post is the best thing we have and prety much need. I think the XBL Online frends list is good enough. Simply because you can reply to a post from someone who logged out. You cannot play HAL0 2 against someone who is ofline.

I'm not that active, but never dead.

The one under the name in the forums would probably take way to much forum speed, but I wouldn't know. However, the Members group and profile pages aren't accessed that much so that would be excellant for that.

I think it's already been suggested for contacting moderators. But, as goweb said, there's really not that big a need for it anymore.

We can already just check when they're last online.

Otherwise, not bad...

Where would that go? Under the avatar... I like the Bungie related icons though.

It's good, but new members probably wouldn't understand what it meant. Maybe it should say under it 'Online' or 'Offline'.
