Well I have seen a few people asking for a new background for the site. And while I am not Stosh, I decided to make one for Autumn. Feel free to critique my work (I am new to photoshop) and post your own.

I know they are internally made, but I thought it would fun if people posted their own creations.

I tried to do a summer one. The resolution is the same as the current BG and it fades into black, like the current BG,

Summer Glow.

Could I have a critique? Like a way to improve it or something?

+ wrong dimensions to be a background for bnet
+ the simple application of a filter and colour change just makes it look a bit... tacky

those are my ownly problems with it. : )

Well it can be resized in about 5 seconds. Not to mention I do not know the dimensions for Bungie.net background. So I just made it big.

And what would you recommend instead? I tried to make it "dusk" but I am not that great at changing the time of day in an image.

dont resize, it will stretch it out and look awful. just right click the picture in the background on bnet and select "view background image". copy and paste as a new image in photoshop.

then go into theatre mode etc and take screenies for a panoramic. merge the shots together and then cut it out/scale down to fit the dimensions within the constraints of the original background image.

thats what i would do.

Okay, I will be sure to do that next time I can get on. Which will be Friday. Because I do not play xbox on the weekdays.

I just did the best I could with what I had. =P But I am going to search google for a panoramic Standoff image.

That's very good, how did you achieve that lighting effect?

And if you do not mind, I am going to quickly take that image and make the leaves green so it doesn't appear so Autumn-ish

EDIT: Also, I would recommend you save then as PNGs so they have/keep a higher quality.

Cool pic, but most b.net backgrounds usually have a lot of gray, silver, white, black etc. in them, so the actual site is the main focus, and not the background.

but I really do like all of your PS work.

Thank you.

That thing you mentioned about the colors, it gave me an idea to make everything kind of black and white, and leave certain parts mildly colored.
