I seem to have the same issue on Win XP with a number of full screen games. Before starting the game end all background processes, easiest way to do this ispress Ctrl+Shift+Esc then go to the processes tab, right click on explorer, hit end process tree. Then hit file, run, and enter explorer. Also check for spyware.
WOWi didn't know ctrl+shift+esc did the same thing as ctrl+alt+del
On my comp it doesn't. It just opens that start menu. Are you sure your not pressing the start button between the alt and ctrl keys?
Heyyo,Nope, ctrl+shift+escape does work. Interesting. ;)Anywho, yeah, probably spyware that's messing up your comp, use ad aware and/or spybot S&D, or another good free anti-spyware program.
Did you know theres a sticky about this at the top of The Maw? Its called the WinXP SP2 Compat Fix or something like that. Check that out.I had that problem too. Apparently, its some glitch with the Windows Service Pack 2
Nothing works...I have tried everything....Reinstalling and uninstalling following every thing on Bungies post. no error messages or anything...it just minimizes Serious answers please
Are you pressing the start button on your keyboard?
What I do with that problem is:When the Halo screen pops up and fills your screen, click your mouse as many times as you can. Keep doing that until the opening cinematics pops up.That's what I do...it works for me...dont ask me why, though.
^^^^^^^weird...that that works. anyways ya what me15ter keeps on saying about the Service Pack 2 fixer-up-er. It'll stop the game from minimizing, also that patch is weird though, i used to need it when ihad XP installed on top of Windows ME, but then when my hard drive got all broken i had XP installed just by itself and I no longer needed the SP 2 fix..weird, anyways hope ur problem is solved.
I never used the patches or anything for the fix, but jman is right...the patch is an oddball...I just used my "click" method. Works for me!
