ok, i just read the fall of reach, and i was enthralled with the plot. but i have a few -blam!-ies. how come in the story, PLASMA is so powerful against everything? i mean, i shot a fully charged plasma pistol at a marines head, and he just shrugged it off (sortof). But in the story, the Plasma could rip through a marine like sissors and paper. will it still be like this in Halo 2?

Also (a little off topic) was the book written before halo the game? because it seemed out of date (the Plasma shields are invincible, the hunters dont have spikes, and the elites dont have the split-chin-mouth)

when is it fun when someone dies from a head shot in a video game? I enjoy shooting them in the head 84 time then watching them grab there knee in pain (i am not talking of halo i am talking of all shooter in genarl)

They probably just wanted to make the book more realistic. Because if you had a ball of super-heated plasma smack you in the face... lets just say you won't have a face anymore.

Oh yes, and if they did that in the game, it would turn into Rainbow Six (not that that is exactly a bad thing, but it wouldn't be halo anymore would it?).

Yeah, the difference between the books and game is a massive realism difference. I have shot marine in the stomach, face, arms, legs with live rounds from a MA5B, and yet they don't die? Those are 7.62 rounds going into your skull and yet they live. In the books, it is different, its more realistic. And it makes sense as the author really wants the reader to feel that in comparison with the Covenant, and their technology, the human race is really at a disadvantage, and has little hope. Its evident that Bungie wants you to feel the same way in the game, but it is over-stressed in the books.
