I have an idea that should be used for every game, but I only came up wit it now, so I believe it should at least be experimented with, if not used. You know how DVD's (used for movies) sometimes have that feature, where they have scene selections? If you don't understand, I mean like, the movie is split into the major scenes, and so it is easy to filter through to the best parts, for after you have already watched the movie the first time, (see where I'm going with this?) this should be applied to video games as well. Maybe as a bonus feature after completing the game on a certain difficulty. This way, when people have already played the game, they can cut to the most epic scenes of the game, and dive right into the action. Feel free to take liberties on this idea, and maybe even make these "cut too's" (i'll refer to them as C2's from now on) available to multiplayer maps.
Although my programming skills are limited (about a year using delphi 4 and some basic introduction to Java) I believe it would be incredibly easy to incorporate, even as a last minute type thing. The C2's could simply be pictures that link to checkpoints that are already established in the game. So it would simply be a matter of making a list of scenes and then making every picture a link to the nearest check point in the game.
Feedback on the C2's would be appreciated, also if the idea is used, a subtle aknowledgement would be nice, but of course im just saying lol.

This is actually used all the time in gaming. RPG's in particular have frequent save points so you can load up an area. If you liked playing that area, simply don't save over that file.

Halo PC has a system where you can save the last checkpoint you were at, and then can load it again at any time while playing. So if you save a checkpoint in Silent Cartographer, you can be playing in the Maw (or not playing at all), and you can load up that checkpoint.

but with my idea, 1.you can apply the checkpoints to even multiplayer settings 2.once you save over that file its gone this way its awlays there 3.this makes it so that, if you were playing with one person on that save file, and now you want two people to play in that area, you can.
