In sites such as blitzcoder.com , they have rankings for there members. NO posts - 100 posts is a newbie, 200- 300, is a veteran member, so on and so forth. Can you guys at the Bungie website add a ranking system? Get rankings from members, and get award areas (for helping bungie), and show how many post a member has made.

I'm not clear what will be (or should be) the final parameters of a member-rewards system. I personally would be concerned that the human desire to compete (extremely strong in gamers and the typical demographic of these forums) would turn such a reward system into an odd MMORPG with people doing what it takes to "level up" on the forums. I believe that would be a failure of the system and should be avoided at all costs.

I'd have to say I agree there. It'd be pretty hard to get a "ranking" system for these message boards without it becoming something that's overly competitive and that people abuse simply to move "up" in the system.

-Quaere verum.

Chairleg Productions presents: 'Console Wars' and 'Games as Art?' (also on Halo Waypoint).

there's going to always be problems. Such as competition, systems overload due to amount of posts etc. Therefore Bungie are looking at really 3 options from what i can see:

1) they simply don't make such a system due to amount of problems
2) They come up with an idea which is perfect. i.e. no major competition, people don't abuse it etc.
3) Make one that people aren't really aware of. How they'll do this is anyone's guess, rumours and information spread like butter on glass.

I just don't want this website to get slower then it already is because of mass posting. I love this website.

It would be nice to show everyone how many posts I have made.., For example:

Optimatch....130 posts.
....... 12
........23
........233
........2321

......= Name of particular fourms. So it shows that bungie im involved in a little bit of everything. Of just shows if Im just dedicated to one fourm. I dont know, really this whole topic is just a suggestion. It seemed good in www.blitzcoder.com, it was neat.

Le Mediocrity. It's fun when we win, and funny when we lose!

Well, am I right to assume that with the upcoming search feature, we'll at least be able to see what posts any given user has made in the past?

Search Feature....... Well I think there should be a place that you can see your own posts. That would be neat. But still, I would like there to be stats more then a fourm search.

Yeah, I read Sketch's discussion about this also, and I have come to conclude that the "member since" date is enough, along with the fact that you are usually recognized on here if you are active, and have been here for a while.
