Subject: Fun Stuff to Do

I've been messing around lately with...uh...interesting and fun things to do in the game. Some stuff is incredibly amusing, such as killing off the entire T&R Brig guard without firing a shot or alerting them, or killing a Hunter without touching it.

I've started taking a few videos of this stuff, and will be adding them here while I'm making them.

Just message me on live.

Meleeing Hunters, it works splendidly. You have a capture card?

  • 02.04.2009 5:39 PM PDT

No, I used my camera to video tape myself on the X-Box. Lulz.

Anyways, YouTube is having difficulties uploading the 8-minute WMV files, so I need to find a way to change the file type or something.

Decompressers, don't put camera videos.

  • 02.05.2009 1:26 PM PDT

What are those?

I am responsible for dividing the Covenant. I shall end this war.

Try Hog racing. In the last part of the Maw, race a friend in that part of the mission where you have 5 minutes to get to the Longsword.

Addicting as hell.

Something incredibly fun to do is go through AotCR without being seen by your enemies, firing a single shot to the head of a Jackal or Grunt while they are alone will not alert anyone. It will alert enemies if you are really close to them though or they are sleeping.

Yeah, that's something I plan on filming. Every chance I get, I go stealth. I normally take out entire rooms in AotCR without anything knowing I'm there.

Now, does anyone know a good way to change the file type to make it easier to upload to YouTube?

Haha yeah, I love the part where you go down the elevator and through the hall and guarding a door is a blue Jackal and a yellow Jackal which are facing away, then you have to beat them both down before they can shoot.

But yeah, I only know how to change the file type on a Mac, maybe if you send the videos to my e-mail I can change them for you or something, I'll pm you my e-mail address if you want to do this.

Yeah, that sounds reasonable. I can add you as co-producer if you want.

Also, are you able to add effects and the like? I have no good software for it.

Do you have Windows Movie Maker? I know my computer came with it on it already, otherwise I can try with iMovie, I haven't really used it much though, it also depends on what kind of affects you were thinking.

Hold on I just remembered a file converting site, Media Convert. You can still send me the vids if you want me to edit them, maybe I will give it a shot. Acutally if it isn't too much to ask just send them to me anyway, Youtube is blocked on my laptop (school).

  • 02.11.2009 7:26 AM PDT

Well, that certainly helps! Thanks Bob! Looks like I won't need you to convert for me after all!

No problem, glad I could help you.

Now all I need to do is figure out how to remove some of the more boring stuff. With clips 8+ minutes long, I dunt wanna make people watch through the whole thing.

I may be able to do that for you, but I'd have to find the time to do it.

  • 02.11.2009 8:09 PM PDT

No, I can do it, it's just a matter of bludgeoning through Windows Movie Maker long enough to figure out how.

I think I know how, but I will have to see for myself before I can really explain how to cut things out. I will check it out tonight probably.

  • 02.12.2009 11:43 AM PDT

Well, I certainly won't be. Too much coursework! D:

In WMM I think all you do is hold down the mouse and drag on a section of video in the timeline you don't want then press Delete. Hold on, i'll go try this.

[EDIT] I got it.

Go to were the boring stuff starts on the timeline. Under the preview click the symbol were the film is split in half. Then go to where the boring stuff ends and press it again then delete the section that has the boring stuff in it.

Don't waste your time or time will waste you.

Set up a game where you have infinite grenades and only plasma pistols or human pistols.

Go to Sidewinder.

Drive a warthog to the middle.

Switch to stickies.

1v1: Each player uses their grenades to try to explode the warthog into the other player causing a splatter.

My friend and I did this back in the good ol' days and every once-in-awhile we'll do it again. It's great for -blam!-s and giggles.

Indeed. and full-map fly-overs from the hill behind Red Base.

Anyways, this is delayed for a bit. It's Reading Week, and I have enough free thyme to do other things.
