The people that think that "dual wielding" is being made weaker have never played Halo before.
It is NOT that dual wielding will be weaker. The point is to give people options to use in different situations. There are strengths and weaknesses now to dual wield, as well as strength and weaknesses to just going solo with a grenade. It's obvious that all you complainers do is grab a dual wielding combo and bumrush people, which requires no skill, strategy, and least of all, aim.
Now, with stronger nades, dual wielders have to be more cautious. It's pretty ridiculous that I know I can plow through a nade explosion with a smg/plasma rifle combo and still probably win against an smg, even if my shields are gone.
With the addition of a more powerful melee, it forces people to back up, take aim, and be cautious, rather than just running right into people's faces and employing the "spray and pray" method, which also negates one of the more crucial parts of a FPS: aim! It takes no skill to spam a dual wielding combo if you're right in the person's face, but now you have to watch out, and back up, and aim, for fear of being melee'd or grenaded.
That's the thing that people fail to understand. Dual wielding was designed, NOT to be better than single wielding, but to be better IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS. Likewise, single wielding will not be better than dual wielding, only, better in certain situations. This completely balances out the game.
If you spawn with an smg and a grenade, you can now, with skill and precision, take out a sniper or a rocket launcher. It's brilliant. Before, I could hit a sniper with a grenade, and still get sniped, because I was too far away to finish him off with an smg. The game will be so much more balanced, and people of all skill levels can compete, DESPITE weapon selection.
