Derrick2004X----------

I am 14, and I think that it is very stereotypical to put us in an age group and say "These are the illerate ones", because I bet you hard cash, that you will find 18+ that cannot spell at all. So just watch what you say.

Then again, I consider the forum a place where I can let it all out, and use abreviations<sp?> and not spell well, as previously shown, most of us are in school anyway, and this gives us a break. I'd hate the day when it comes that correct grammar and punctuation are a must on these forums.

D*MN Straight dude!!! Tell it how it is! you have my support

Its almost like stopping someone in public, and telling them that they are wrong in the ay that they pronounced a word.

Darksaiyan, as a response to your "new poll," my hate rating of durandal would be a 0. your comments seem to be in direct contradiction to your apparant belief, which is that you should not judge people before you get to know them.

this forum is actually a perfect description of itself. It is relatively new to this world, but it is already the most popular at bungie.net. see? the amount of time something, or someone has spent existing is irrelevant, it is the quality of that object or individual that counts.

Pardon me for the relatively frequent use of the same words. To quote me, "It's people like me who make people like me look bad."

I'm 16 as of the 26th.

I think that it's generally a few stupid idiots who just choose to spell everything wrong, or in '1337', or who just fail to comprehend english as a language.

The vast majority of us are capable of excellent grammar and spelling, but seriously, it is a relatively anonymous message board where you can yabber - it doesn't require literate intelligable interaction.

Sure, it annoys the hell out of those of us who wish it did require such interaction, but it doesn't, and we are forced to face the glib reality.

There's always condescending language, at least we can proficiently quantify our higher order cognitions on a platform that ignoramuses fail to comprehend, neh?

John- as above... that was an oversight at the beginning of this thread, I would prefer if the gaming community had more older people... sadly this place tends to be full of kids, most of whom act like they are 2, not 12/13/14/15/etc

Apologies. I have been rather ignorant not reading even the last page to see your apology. ::Bows:: I am sorry you seem to be getting to much guff for your wording, a shame ther eis no way to edit it a little. =-/ Maybe if you edited the BODY of the first post?

New Mombassa, at times have some interlectual topics, for example, JohnConstatine, had a topic about how much energy it is needed to boil oceans. That is how it should be around here. I'm fifteen, and I have no problem keeping up with these kinds of topics (please no labeling), and you can right like a moron all you want, just not here. I for one, am not perfect, I've had my fair share of moronic posts, just that I try to keep such idiotic outburst at a minimum.Halo is more than just shooting up aliens (its a big part), but there is so much more if you look at it a keen eye. My English teach had a saying, " Diarhea of words, constipation of ideas" now that very aptly describes our forum.

All right, just to carry on this thread's apparent....................i'm 16, and will be turning 17 in December. but really, WHO CARES ABOUT 'POOR' spelling!?!?!?! seriously...just let it slide. a large majority of the people here is just faking their ability to spell to 'prove' to 'everyone' that they can. as soon as another thread comes up, it'll go back to the way it was. it bothers me beyond compare as to how poorly people speak on the net, but what am I going to do? Correct everyone out there? obviously someone cares 'bout the poor spelling though, 'cause he posted something on it. meh! i don't care! this is a big waste of time...and now i wonder why i am typing....congrats! someone out there gave me the motivation to post, which i have never done before. and i have been here since before i was 14, reading about Halo, and checking on updates. in summary, people will type how they will type, not because they are lazy, but because they 'a: feel this need to be an individual, or b: to fit in with the individual who started some crazy idea and it caught on.' i'm going to go kill my dad now on Halo. He happens to be 46. That kinda blows the idea that games are for little kids. anyways, i'm going now, bye!

I'm 14, so sue me. I agree on the point that age isn't necessarily the determining factor of maturity. Most of the bad grammer on the forums is more than likely due to the fact that the vast majority of people view online forums such as this one as an extremely informal means of communication. Think about it, do you really think that most of those people talk like that off of the net?
