If anything I believe that this thread has made it apparent that the younger groups are far more eloquent than it was previously believed. Though it is probable that those among us with a more expanded vocabulary refrain from using it during casual conversation(at least I know I do) we have proven to my satisfaction that our literary skills are equal to that of our more "experianced" compatriots. Ender, though I am of the opinion that this thread no doubt has merit I believe it would be prudent to edit your original post.

I think that this thread is very important for some people in these forums to show how enjoyable proficient English is. Of course this community is gigantic in size, which makes it hard to enforce or rather maintain sohpisticated language, but such language makes it more appealing to interact in these forums.

I'm not saying people should go crazy because they are trying to use very good English, but thus they should show a little effort. I agree that this is hard, probably because of the age differences. Yet, people who think they're mature enough to discuss about a certain topic should be also mature enough to do so in an organized manner.

By the way, I'm German, so the use of proper English has a totally different meaning to me. I'm trying not to lose all of the English I know, so I try to employ more sophisticated words and structure in my posts. Don't flame me if those are not grammatically correct. So that somehow counts as an excuse.

I'm 16, for anybody who cares.

HEY YOU GUYS!!!

I am 21. About in the middle of all the ages listed. You can never be too old for videogames....or should I say too old for HALO.

im 12 i think 12-15 are the right ages to play halo if ur ove 16 ur probably a lazy butt then if ur under 12 i think ur too young honestly.........

dumbass. why the hell are you here? technically you shouldn't be playing this game unless you are eighteen or older. and guess what? you are not. just because you get your ass handed to you on a plate everytime you play is no reason to diss the older and more experienced players here. and besides, the age of halo players is not the issue; the issue is spelling and semi-proper grammer. and frankly, neither of your's was that great.
oh and back to the age issue. not only is it built for people 18+, but many people I know personally over your arbitrarily chosen age fifteen play halo and are not anything close to "lazy butts": my cousin who is in college to become a nuclear physicist(21)... that takes alot of work... is he a Lazy butt? I dont think so. Another is my uncle (43)... I'm not sure what he does, but it has long hours and in addition he is a navy reservist. and did you read that bungie story awhile ago? U.S. troops in iraq play Halo and Xbox live during their down time... whether you like the iraq war or not, there is no way you can accuse hard-working military personell of being 'lazy butts'.

Hey what’s your problem, I knew I twelve year old that knew the true meaning of ass kicking in halo. You have no right to get on his case for bad grammar, because you can’t tell me that Texans have good grammar. As for you Lemort try going to word, type your post their and use the spelling tools to help you.

my problem is not his grammer or spelling, my problem is that he not only totally departed from the purpose of the thread, he also arbitrarily chose an age and then insulted everyone above it. and im not from texas dumbass.

When you see posts like nobody's (great name by the way) there on the last page close to other posts by people trying to defy the growing stereotype....its just sad. As is trying to create hatred for someone- darksaiyan im looking in your direction.... I mean they post in this thread demanding respect then they run their mouths and I lose all respect-hell, even tolerance, of these people. This thread is rapidly descending into all out ageism. Young people insulting older gamers? Telling them to get a girlfriend? So this means that you can't be a gamer and have a social life? Thats pure ignorance. This insult coming from a 15 year old really brings down the other 15 year olds. I guess every age group has its jerks.

"8 or 9 is to young i mean there hands are about the size of the right trigger. iam 15 and iam just right. as for 25 year olds, you guys need some girlfriends. "

Dude....you need a girlfriend.

I think this guy needs to get a life and also needs to quit studying the dictionary. I have gotten straight A's all through high school and yes i know how to spell and so what if i make a grammatical error? or a typo? only someone as lame as you with no life would care.
Anyone agree?

so wait... youre saying that he is a loser because he knows the proper use of words and you dont? or he is a loser because you got all your A's by cheating and stealing off smart people? either way, please shut up. it makes no sense.

To everyone who puts an age limit on gaming: no. you can play games if you're over 20 or 25 or whatever the hell you people are saying the age is... just as long as it is not the only activity you ever do, its fine. Mr. Smiley has a fiance... (or is he married now... Im not following that closely)... a few other big big names are married/have girlfreinds/have healthy social lives/etc. and as I said before, bungie itself did a story on armed forces in Iraq playing halo and Xbox live... do they have lives? not really... but soldiers arent allowed to have lives... but most of them have wives/girlfreinds back home. oh well.

To everyone who says young'uns can't spell: no. most of them can. but those who can don't post. those under 20 who do post on this thread usually just say 'i AR 13 anD i aR a gOD at hAlo'... even though this thread has no relation to halo... while most are plenty literate, they are also for the most part plenty dumb and more than lazy... too dumb and lazy to even read the past pages.

To the people who say that bungie.net doesn't have intellectual conversations/interactions:
it's a shame isn't it? if you were here for the old bungie.net, you'll remember that there used to be quite a few. if you weren't... oh well... it was sweet... there was al kinds of great stuff back then, and a much higher substance to spam ratio. oh well. I quess it will be like that two years after halo2 comes out... I hope...

I'm 12, going to be 13 in a few months =/, and whoever said that Bungie could turn us in for playing games that are rated 'M' for 17+ is wrong. The rating is the recommended age for playing the game with the exception of AO which you must be 18 or older to play and if you're not and you're caught u can get arrested(I think).

My way of understanding it is, that the MAture rated games are reccomended for gamers aged 17 and up, not neccasarly that they ar the only ones who can play them. If you are mature enough to handle it, and yoru parents, or guardians dont mind then, Bungie, nor the police can do a damn thing about it.
