With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Here's a saying:

"If you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen."

... If you can't stand to read posts with bad grammar, either get used to it, or leave... Its a public forum, and humans are, by nature, not that smart. There's tons of people out there who use incorrect grammar and spelling (I being one of them, although some are worse than me). And many people, when typing for something that's not being graded, they just don't want to type correctly. I call it laziness... but I can't do anything about it, and neither can you (no offense).

So "quit your -blam!-in', or get out of the kitchen." We don't need another Henry Higgins.

Just my thoughts. I don't mean to put you off by it, but you're overreacting.

I will be turning 15 on the 29th this month. I always try to have perfect grammar and spelling. I agree with what a lot of people have said before, that how most people spell is a sign of their intelligence (not to mention laziness). Why post if no one can read it?

"get out of the kitchen"?

thats a bit unfair isn't it? if somebody joins a forum you're in and makes life hell are you going to leave or are you going to sort out the problem?

think about it

Hmm... if we're going with kitchen metaphors, how 'bout, "If you can't cook, get out of the kitchen."

Im 24 and I think the bad spelling and grammar is more caused by the fact that not every "Forum Visitor" is from an English speaking country.

that's 1½ cents

I assume you are referring to me, if so thanks.

Just so I don't get things mixed up, is it visiter or visitor?

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

Alright, look:

There is a problem, and that problem is either stupidity (no offense) or laziness. People write stupid things, write badly, use incorrect grammar, spelling, and punctuation. That includes me, because I'm not the best in literature... I sometimes use incorrect grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Yes, it gets annoying when you can't understand someone's writing. But, as I said before, there's nothing I can do about it, nothing the Mods can do about it, and nothing you, or anyone else can do about it (well... except maybe Bungie, but even I doubt they can do that). Call me a pessimist, if you will, because that's what I am. How can anyone influence a person's writing without knowing that person? I've never seen any of these people in my life, and probably never will. I only "know" them through the forum, and the same goes for just about everyone else here... Even if someone tries to make the writing better, who's to say anyone will listen? We don't know them, they don't know us...

I really don't mean any offense by this, and I apologize if my last post was in anyway commanding or harsh or what-not.

I believe that it is visitor! I am an American 15 year old and spell great!
I think the person who made this thread didnt realize that people use slang a lot! Its just the way they type! I mean I chat on MSN Messenger a lot and on there we shorten a lot of words down! Such as, u, prolly, sup, etc. I mean Im not going to spend my time punctuating my msn messages lol!

You have a point there. In non English speaking countries, when people learn English, they are taught proper English. We, native speakers, learn slang and short cuts all our lives, therefore do not think about using the proper punctuation, spelling, etc. I've had native Spanish speakers jump down my throat for me using proper Spanish. Not cool.

Both are acceptable spellings.

Actually I do realize that people use slang. I also understand that it's much quicker to use such shortcuts as aforementioned in instant messaging. However, this isn't instant messaging, it's more akin to letter writing. So, as such, I do appreciate it when people punctuate.

I'm 17 and still have over 10 months left with the number seven in my
age. Yes, I love the number 7 so much that I'm glad it's in my name.
So what? I'm a Bungie fan. Ah, the joys of 17. I can buy Mature games
without any lip from the clerk, go to rated "R" movies without any
trouble from the box office, and best of all, I live in Texas so I'm of
"legal age" if you know what I mean. To quote Frankie: RIDE THE
PICKLE!!!
(sorry for being inappropriate, but I couldn't resist)

Wow. A 12 year old. I'm over twice that age.
I thought one had to be at least 13 to surf the Internet alone. But I guess there isn't anyone there to enforce that... except for the child's parents.

I don't have any problem with a 15 or 16 year old gamer being interested in Halo but a 12 year old? C'mon! It is rated "M" for a reason.

Oh wait, we're talking about the forums.

Being 25+ doesn't mean that you don't belong

I mean, tell me the average age of the people making the game; really now...
They can be involved in the game but I think they could be using their time a bit more efficiently then talking on these forums...like getting a girlfriend or something.

Ratings don't mean anything. Halo isn't even that violent, compared to other games.... I've seen 6 year olds play GTA... Hell, I played "mature" games when I was 12, and younger.

And you really have to be 13 to surf the net? Wow... Ya learn something every day, I suppose.... but sheesh... 13?
