I am 15, an dthe reason to why I do not have good grammar, is that I don't have english as my native language. And I have almost not learned any big amounts of new english the last years in school. In fact, I think that a least 80% of my vocubalary* comes from playing Baldur's Gate 2.
Sometimes my english feels so bad that I say that I just type random letters and hope for the best

*I know, my spelling sucks

If anyone had trouble understanding what I just wrote, you should know that I am playing monkey and just pressing random keys

I'm fifteen as well, and I never understood why people type like they don't know how to spell simple words.

There's a reason I don't often post here.

Well, it looks good to me. Keep it up, and you'll have the complete works of William Shakespeare in no time.

Ratings don't mean anything. Halo isn't even that violent, compared to other games.... I've seen 6 year olds play GTA... Hell, I played "mature" games when I was 12, and younger.

And you really have to be 13 to surf the net? Wow... Ya learn something every day, I suppose.... but sheesh... 13?

I hope you change before you have kids.
Halo is rated M for violence, yes, but there is also a lot of swearing in it. And I would want my child to be using bastard or damn, or hell at 6 years old. And I also wouldn't want my 6 year old running around the neighbor hood thinking its okay to melee someone in the back of the head or shoot someone in the face with a .44 pistol.
I'm not saying Halo is a bad game, but the ESRB is there for a reason, thank God. They don't just slap a large black letter on the corner of a disc case and say, "Oh, it's just there for decoration. It don't mean anything."

There was an interesting thread about that a few days ago. I think it was in the Flood. I'll try to find it and post a link.

Hey Sporndog, I'm not expert in the Shakespearean arts, but woudln't it be methinks rather than me thinketh? ;-)

Or am I mixing that up with Dickensian works?

I don't know... I hate them both... Dickens in partickler ;-)

I am 15, have a well rounded vocabulary, and don't spam. Most of the spams and stupid threads of by people who don't have a life and must annoy people on these forums. Besides I've been beaten at chess by people younger than me so age doesn't neccesarily prove any intelligence.

My age is irrealevant, what matters is my ability to dish out:
1.Humor
2.Hot Lead
3.Punches

Oh, and I don't appreciate being called illiterate and makes me want to dish out 2 and 3, instead of 1.

I guess its true that age doesn't count for much... Hunter77th and Spartan 69, lay off MakaVeli4LIfe1... he's one of the people keeping this place running, and if you can't show respect for him then I don't think you deserve to be here!

16 year-old telling off a guy who's 24... isn't that sad?

Along with the ratings, ADHERE TO THEM! 6 year-olds should not be playing games like this, it messes with their brains... why do you think there have been so many shootings in primary schools and kindergartens?

Nice work all those people who are from non-english backgrounds! Keep up the good work!

Shai Hulud, this post isn't designed to create some sort of movement in bungie or set up rules for the forum... it's just trying to get people to think before posting, and to try and get some legible posts out of people here. Sure it may not work, but it's better than doing nothing about the problem ;-)

I appreciate the feedbalck durandal. You're not the first to agree with me, but certainly the most recent. I'm with you on all of your points. However, I'm not sure my post is really going to do anything. There really isn't any great solution to the nonsense. I wish there was though, believe you me. Any well written post with some logic in it is worth reading. Unfortunately, that isn't the norm, and it takes quite a bit of time to sort through all the worthless rubbish.

I said I was over twice the age of 12 years which, if you use some simple logic, is somewhere between 24 and 36.

Anyways, ever since I started using the Internet I was (and still am) driven insane by people who use short words like
wht r u doin
k, i am goin 2 b gon tumaro

Its actually gotten so bad that people now use shortened words in everyday real life... which I find to be a sad sign. The Internet is the Internet and everything on the Internet stays on the Internet. It should not spill over into the real world.

Of course, that is just my opinion.

Okay I'm done with my short speech. :)

Hehe, I'll refer SketchFactor's Homer Simpson quote to you:

"You tried, and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try."

;-)

Along with the ratings, ADHERE TO THEM! 6 year-olds should not be playing games like this, it messes with their brains... why do you think there have been so many shootings in primary schools and kindergartens?

I know where you are coming from, and I know why, because I've seen it happen myself (not in-person...)... But I'll restate what I said in different words: Ratings don't always mean anything. It depends on the person playing the game. Perhaps I simply new better than to take things seriously when I was younger, and playing "adult" games... Don't take that as arrogance, because I know I'm not the only one who doesn't take those things seriously... And I know that some people, ignorant because of youth (which you can't really prevent), or ignorant because... well... because that's the way they are, do take those things seriously... Its more of a matter of the person playing the game, rather than the game itself...

Just the way I look at things. I completely understand if you don't agree with it.

And the "never try" quote was just a joke... I see why you do this, but I still think that its futile. And age doesn't really matter much, in terms of type-ability. It does in some cases, but in others (which can be seen here), you find that many younger "kids" write better than the older people....

With B.B. gone, the passion of Bungie.net has lessened.

And are games really the cause of the school-shootings? I've heard of "indirect" game-induced suicide, but never being the cause of shootings... I've only heard of the bully-factor that goes into them...

Damn bullies... good for nothin'!

(by indirect game-induced suicide, I mean in cases such as people who play online, and get attached to other people whom they don't know, and something bad happens, and they shoot themselves.... I can't remember the name of one game that I'm thinking of, but I know its the main one involved in cases like that (out of what I've heard))
