Hey Bungie, great update. Glad to see a sweet new Forge item. I actually was talking on the forums awhile ago about how it'd be neat to have addable death barriers and that is basically it, perhaps I was to swift to judge and I may have to purchase these maps after all.

Interesting developments. The most diabolical uses for killballs are running through my head right now. Keep up the good work Bungie.

Are you kidding me. This isn't acceptable bungie. You might get away with being lazy this time but if it continues were going to see nothing but blam! come out of your studio. I hope to god I'm wrong. Stop settling on anything but perfection. That is what we expect from you.

Nice update Bungie. I like the Killball effect aka if seen, run. Good update and keep them coming! btw, did you get my email I sent you?

With all the maps being included on Halo ODST, it is clear that this will be the definitive way to play Halo 3 multiplayer when it releases. Will Bungie be reprogramming the way levels load so that it will be appropriate to burn this onto the 360 hard drive? It seems like this would make sense.

Also I was wondering if you could make maps load, after the players get the option to veto, rather than before. Seems obvious, and would save a lot of time.

Lastly, could you please give everybody Recon, except for me, I want to be unique.

Wait, I'm a little confused. The grid is a Sandbox exclusive?

Wow.

Forge was originally created to exist as a tool to edit a map's objects, not as map creation tool.

Simmer down.

Why say "three brand new exclusive maps"?

Why not just say Heretic, Longshore and Citadel?

I'm always getting confused about the Mythic Map pack contents and the Mythic Maps total number.
Because when Recon/ODST was first announced, it said it would include the Mythic Maps (Assembly, Orbital, Sandbox, Heretic, Longshore, and Citadel) and 3 other [as yet unnamed] maps.

The fact that Microsoft decided to split up the Mythic release does not change the fact that there are 6 maps considered as Mythic.

So ODST will include 6 unreleased maps?

It will have all six maps that aren't available right now, but when it releases in the Fall, you will already have had to opportunity to play half of them, so only three will be exclusive to Halo 3: ODST when it goes on sale.

Killballs, the grid, and Forging on a budget.

click for full story

Wow! Now that doesn't sound right, its already difficult to put every thing one wants in a CUSTOM map when Forging. And now your making it even more difficult to make a map you can be satisfied with. I thought Forging was supposed to be about CUSTOMIZATION!
What was your reasoning in putting another ridiculous limit on Forge? Some on from Bungie PLEASE elaborate!!!!

The thing is, is that the OLN prevents the map from being overloaded, and increase lag and loading. It's a blessing (not) in disguise.

This is stupid, just do it right for once. I am not a forger but i love to see what people make on foundry and couldn't wait until sandbox came out but the two budget thing is just ridiculous. You only have three more maps coming out after this pack so give the people a real editor or your game will not be played online for much longer. You know what everyone wants so just do it for -blam!-s sake. You guys are morons.

don't ever change your xbl login email. it will only leave you with over 30 days of stress trying to fix it.

I'm not much of a forger myself but the OLN seems pretty reasonable.
Just think of how cluttered a map could get if you kept putting the same object or a million different objects in it regardless of how much money you had.
It just seems like it's a good cap to make maps have more flow and be playable to them instead of making a non-playable and jumbled.

Anybody want a peanut?

So.... just how limited is the OLN? Can Foundry support more or less objects than Sandbox? From what I understand from reading the update, it doesn't look good.

The update said that deleting the default objects won't reduce the count against the OLN. So, let's come up with a hypothetical situation.

There's 30 default objects on the map when I open up Forge. So, the count towards the OLN is 30. I delete everything, because I (some hypothetical person) haven't read the latest Update, and start with a Canvas. The count against the OLN is still 30. I spawn a box. Will the count against the OLN be 31 now, or will it stay at 30 until I surpass what was originally on the map?

Wait.

"Team Mythic is going to be a social 4v4 playlist exclusive to owners of the Mythic Map Pack. Primarily slayer, Team Mythic will feature Slayer, Slayer BRs, SWAT, and Snipers. Additionally, 2 Flag, Neutral Assault, and even Grifball will make cameos at a lower weighting. The playlist will feature all three Mythic maps, including Sandbox in multiple variants."
Does that mean... what I think it means?

Have you already given RT the maps and have they already created a "Sand Grifball" variant on Sandbox like they tried to on Last Resort's beach last year?

This is going to be great. =)

From what I understand the objects on the default map layout are in addition to whatever the oln is. So if there are 30 default objects on the map and the onl is say 40 then your overall limit is really 70 if you dont delete the default objects. If you didnt read the update and deleted the 30 original objects then your limit would be 40 and there would be no way to get the original 30 default objects back. I think thats the way it is anyway. So in your hypothetical situation the answer is no it will not stay at 30 until you surpass what was originally on the map. If that were the case then there would be no problem and no need to stack the original objects on the side.

This is the place where people say something funny, link to their other threads, or just say whatever else is their mind.
But why don't I just write about what people usually put into this little box?

The OLN sounds like crap. Why can't they change it so that when you delete the map default items, you get to place more? Sounds lazy on Bungie's part.
