Ok in the level Sacred Icon, when I'm playing as the Arbiter, I get jackals and grunts as my allies. Now later on after the elites are replaced by the brutes, grunts are still the elites allies, but how come the jackals aren't anymore, did they stay with the prophets and the brutes? It just seems a little weird though that the jackals didn't separate with the elites like the grunts did.

That never occured to me but you are right. Maybe Jackals think humans are just way too ugly and didn't want the association.

All throughout history great empires rise and fall. How you ask?
Two reasons:
1. Economic failure because of either inflation or socialistic programs.
2. War. Their armies were spread too thin and too far from home.

The United States has bases all around the world in "hazardous" areas and it's economy collapses it seems every 20 years. Do you really think that history won't change? Do you really think that you can run the world?

No idea, maybe because the grunts like the elites better?

Or could it be they were meant to do it....

I beilve it has to do with the security factor. What I mean to say is the grunts as we all know if you pay attention through out the game if the elites are killed then the grunts scatter. The jackels will tend to side with the more apposing force while the grunts will side with who they are most familiar.

Sorta like the posts above me, the jackals just decided not to leave the Great Journey. Just how the sides got divided up during the Covenant Civil War.

Thats what I was thinking.

BUT also in Halo 3, don't the grunts leave the elite's side? Because I've seen grunts fighting with the brutes in Halo 3, so they must have switched with the brutes as well.
