"The Maw Server #1"

...will be up tonight and on and off for the rest of the week until the weekend, when it will be up for about 72 hours.

*Pipedream: Team Slayer
H2_New Mombasa: CE-CTF Pro
Wizard: Team Shotguns
Blood Gulch: Classic CTF Pro
Hang 'Em High: Team Juggernaut
H2_Zanzibar: CE-CTF
*Fissure Falls: Team Slayer
Sidewinder: Psycho CTF
Prisoner: Team Rockets
Wizard: CTF Pro
*Fissure Falls: Team Sniper CTF

Two new maps you need, Fissure Falls and Pipedream (you should have them...they really are the classic CE maps). If you want a specific map or gametype, post a message here.

Try it again, now. I tinkered with some settings and ports. Burnt toast is running on another pc. At least now the server shows.

Found out why. My router kept putting in the wrong IP for forwarding ports. I set it correctly, so now it *should* work.

Recon, it's in CE.

If I can get a dedicated server working relativly lag free, I could make it for PC. I know my connection sucks now but it turns out we were being giped and paying for 3mb down and .8 mbs up but only getting 756kb down and 100 up. Hopefuly my dad and I can sort this out.

CE needs help, man. It has less lag which is good for a home server running on cable, I mean, it's lucky I can handle 12-16 players on CE. Besides, custom maps and stuff means every few nights we can have crazy stuff like the super stunt maps, the sonic the hedgehog map, Area 53, etc. Just crazy ones. Not to mention CE is dying while PC still has many players.

PC...maybe you or someone else can host one.

I just tried to get in but I couldn't. I don't know if this will affect anything but it was using port 3871 in the IP adress. I was thinking that if i could get one working then I could have it on CE some of the time and PC some of the time.

Btw, I would create my own server, except my computer is horrible at that kind of task (hell, if it runs more than 3 programs, it gets tired), and Im the occasional gamer, not the constant one.

But thanks, though. I mean, its a beautiful idea...having a bs-free, unfair-free server where everyone (sort of, at least) knows you and is willing to kick some @$$...the right way...

Port 3871...

Try it at 2302 and 2303, those are the normal ports.

I enabled RIP packets, my router has a lot of crazy options - supposedly this lets it communicate with other rouers...I hate netgear, linksys never made me do this. Also made it a DMZ server, so it should be wide open. I have almost every secuirty disabled now and every 'inviting' option enabled.

I've got to head off somewhere, I'll be beack in an hour, and then I will resume the tinkering. So far I can'
t do much more - it's the router, for sure, since this never happened with my linksys.

No, I am using ports 2302 and 2303, the server was using port 3871. The IP address was ***.***.***.***:3871 <--- the port number.

Alright, I've bypassed the hub. I think that because I was behind a hub behind a router, no one could get by the double protocol.

also, Comcast has been on and off. It's pissing off everyone around here because it's the only high-speed cable that everyone has, and well, their outtages made it into the front page yesterday. So check it now!

SWEET!

Just had a short game with 3 people, not from bungie, though. Server works now, it was the network hub all along that messed things.

From tonight to Sunday night, the maps and their gametype will be:

H2_Zanzibar --------> Classic CTF
Blood Gulch --------> Team Slayer
Frost ----------> CTF Pro
Green Hill ---------> Slayer Rockets
Wartorn Cove VERSION 5 ----------> CTF Pro
H2_New Mombasa -----------> CTF Snipers, no shields (hardcore street battles, yo)
Wizard --------> Team Slayer Shotguns

If you want to set up a dedicated server you will need the dedicated server program. You can get it from the halo site. Your might want to cheack your upload speed aswell but you probably have .5 mb atleast.

I got green hills from halomaps.org. Filter the selection to letter G.

You need HaloCE Dedicated Server and then it would help you to have the IB-Extensions GUI to setup the server init.txt file quickly.

W5rtorn Cove is the filename for Wartorn Cove 5.
