just be careful not to be shot by your team's guard....they may think youre stealing it lol

Thats not a good idea. Someone would just take the flag and go somewhere (not at the base).......which means when the other team tries to get the flag it wont be where its supposed to be, but hidden someplace else. It needs to just respawn back at the base how it does now

i also think you should be able to mve your flag too. And maybe to balance out the fact that people will hide it in very clever places, it should show up on radar

It would cause problems with lamers... they could grab the flag and move it toward the enemy base. But if ppl didn't do that then it would be fun.

or a nav marker, but then it would be to easy to find and not worth hiding

lol, that might make getting the flag home a lot easier, think about it.....
You got your enemies flag and your say 20 metres from the base when you get shot down! The guy who shot you then has to run up and grab the flag a mere 20 metres away from you and a few teammates (assuming some are at the base), then run alllll the way back to his own base, avoiding fire from any of your teammates who were milling around in the midfield waiting for you to score! If you gun him down quickly enough you only have to run 20 metres to score!
In other words Im a fan!

Maybe it could work like there is one flag in the middle of the map, and each team has to try to get it into his base, sorta like push in team fortress if anyone is familiar with that.

You do realize that you can change it so that it doesnt reset if you touch it in halo1 right? Just so you know my comment just made this thread meaningless.

isnt it timed in halo 1 if you choose that?

Yes... but you can't set it so you have to take it back to your base... can you?

you need to read more carefully, he wanteed to be able to pick up his own flag that the enemy took and have to bring it back to his base and NOT have it teleport back after a few seconds

I dislike the idea, so people would just hide it in impossible places.

Actually it doesnt make this thred useless sonny, we are talking about picking up your flag and carrying it back to your own base to reset it!
Whereas you are talking about when in Halo you could set it so you had to defend it for 30 seconds before it automatically resets at the base!

Sounds a lot like flagball, an MP game in novalogic's Delta Force 2. Every game of that I was in, was fast-paced, and really fun.

Let's get realistic for a moment.

Oh okay. For a second there I thought we were going to talk about a game, seeing as this is a forum for a game.

Realism is not part of Halo's repretoir. No, it's not. While your idea isn't a bad one, I disapprove of a feature being added "for realism" to a sci fi game. Sci fi games aren't real.
