Pick the corresponding numbers if you think-

1) It would be cool if you can choose to play a map at night or day, perhaps with varying degrees of darkness or even dawn/dusk possibilities. No weather effects, no multiple visors or visor effects. Just give me time changes

2) I don't care about night and day, but I think adding rain or fog would be awesome. I don't want multiple visors though 'cause that's just ridiculous.

3) Weather and time of day stuff is just boring. I want night/thermal/x-ray/whatever vision and visor effects (getting water on it and stuff)

4) Choosing weather and time of day would be great, but I don' t want this to turn into Metroid Prime or Splinter Cell with multiple visors, this is HALO! ahh, I can see it now, sneaking up on the base in the dark and rain and *boom* no more enemy sniper.

5) Weather, time and visor effects are all gravy! The more the merrier

6) Well I don't mind have all of those things in the game, but I don't want to HAVE to get rain on my visor if I don't want or have the option to use thermal/night vision anytime if I don't want to. I don't care, but gimme a choice.

7) Ok, all of those things are just ridiculous. Weather and time are too complicated and would probably just delay the game. This isn't SplinterCell or any of that crap! I want traditional Halo.

I figured I'd want to know what people thought after pervious thread I posted in. Let me *and hopefully bungie* know what you guys think

-thanks to Synikal for starting the discussion-

bah

To people who bump posts:
If your post is so unpopular that it is off the front page, there is no need to bump it, just let it die. If your post is good and it got kicked because of insane activity, odds are someone will like it and respond, thus brining it back to life.

Guys give him a break. It's obvious he went through some trouble to put up this poll, so let him get a chance for more people to see it (Like Bungie :p)

I think it would add even more depth but I rather have the developer make the call. Now for multiplayer I give that a shot there.

Well I don't think Bungie should throw in weather effects etc. if its going to cause major problems or make the game unplayable. However, if such options are available then I think it would be a boon for creating variety in multiplayer (after playing the same levels 100+ times you may like the idea of playing one of them at night a few times).

thanks for the support synikal

I reckon that it would be cool. Very cool. But I dont like the idea of metroid prime style headset. I like the idea that certain weapon will give you nightvision through thier scopes.

People often argue that halo is set 500 years in the future. I do history GCSE, and I know that it doesnt always keep on getting more and more advanced as years go by. Look at the dark ages for a minute.

With that in mind, why would everyone have loads of super visions?

My other point is that I dont think it would be too hard to come by. Morowind can change weather and lighting with ease, and during play. I always thought that we were debating start and finish at same time and weather. Why can't it change?

Comrad, I thought that would be somewhat more difficult to accomplish than just having one set time, and I'm just going one step at a time. Real time err. . . time would also make some pretty huge changes in gameplay and tactics (such as waiting for darkness to attack or try to hurry back to a safe spot before daybreak). If Bungie can get it done, I'm all for it.

Well on morowind I reckon it only changes when you are outdoors. even then it changes hours in like 15 minutes I reckon.

But still, changing weather during fighting would be cool. Perhaps if you start at dusk, ten minutes in, it could change to night. I dunno.

yeah, I think that would be great, but I'll be happy if we get any options at all. I know that some ctf games I've played lasted well long enough to have time change even if days where on a 24-hour cycle in the game. Heh heh, 4+ hour CTF games are the best.
