Halo 1 & 2 for PC

I bought HALO: CE for the PC few years back, but my new DVD drive doesn't read (nor write) CDs well. The old Sony (lite-on) also had few issues as well but it was nothing major.

So is there any way to copy the disk on to a DVD/HDD without altering the copy protection? If not, can you offer me any alternatives apart from keeping my old drive just to play HALO:CE?

Also, is it possible to purchase HALO:CE via online as a downloadable content for the PC?

PS: Tried running HALO on the X360 and it was terrible (poor frame rate and fixed 4:3 aspect ratio). Can't believe I wasted 600 points on that.

Just copy it to a new disc. The game doesn't have copy protection anymore (patch to 1.08).

Sure it's not your drive?

I have no issues with copying the entire disc to my PC. Give that a try and then burn to another disc.

I've managed to copy the files after several attempts. It seems the disk drive is on its way out.

Anyway, thanks for the help.
