The funny thing is to me, that so few people saw that, got Halo and were upset that the game wasn't exactly the same as the game. Compare that to the 2003 E3 and the game it "demonstrated". Man, did people -blam!- about that.
I guess that most people didn't know about Halo pre-release and those that did who saw the 2000 footage understood that "this is an example of what the game is going to be LIKE" and not "this is a level that YOU will play".
Well, I've been around video games since pong came out. Halo was the first time I ever heard of Bungie. I didn't own a Mac, and although I heard of Myst, it just didn't sound like my type of game. All that said you have to understand that the people that saw the 2000 E3 were probably rather few compaired to the 2003. Me and all my friends downloaded the 2003 E3 showing like I'm sure a ton of other did. It just had a lot more exposure.
Dang, just watched the whole 2000 E3. That was corny as hell!!! Had the Master Chief in it for all of 15 seconds. Good thing Bungie got good word of mouth!!! LOL
