check to see that your Cd-rom drivers are updated, that'll sometimes screw it up. Also, clean out dust in your computer.

you dont need drivers for cdrom drives, unless they are not ide, then i am not sure...

all ide ones use atapi (in modern systems anyway)

Isn't that one of the things that SP2 does to halo? There are stickies if you are having trouble running halo.

Sounds like a virus to me - update everything - your spyware blocking programs, your antivirus, and your windows - then scan everything twice. Finally, if it still happens, UNinstall Halo then install it again. A reinstall only reinstall the game files - it doesn't mess with the registry files the game uses..

okay. first do u have sp2? By the way, how old is ur motherboard?. What is ur motherboard by the way? Lastly, go on halo.com and download something called strings.dll. Save it to the microsoft/halo folder. If it prompts u to ovrwrite say yes. Also, download the 1.06 halo patch there too.

Heyyo,

No, he doesn't need the SP2 fix cause the 9200 might be 128MB at the most. It's not that new of a card guys...

Anywho, so the game restarts when you try n' play it? hmm, I have this problem with Doom3.. could be a glitch with the game, could be a glitch with our computer setups..

Well, for IDE cd rom drives, just like SCSI, all that really matters is if it has Plug-N-Play. Then it should be fine all by itself.

Spyware could also be the prob yeah, cause lots of spyware going at once is just asking for instability. Use Ad Aware, Spybot S&D, or whatever other one you think is good. If you can't run or download them, odds are you got some heavy spyware on your comp, and will need to get your anti-spyware program on there by cdrom drive, or floppy, or someother method like zip drive.. make sure you have the latest updates for your ant-spyware program, or it might only catch half of the spyware...
